Bahamian Heights displayed marked improvement when third at Sandown, despite not appearing to get home over 7f, and he's a leading contender on that form dropping back in trip, while Major Crispies built on a promising opener when narrowly missing out at Salisbury and he clearly has a race in him. Mathematics cost 145,000gns in April and Saeed bin Suroor's newcomer warrants plenty of respect, but it could pay to side with SPEEDFIEND. Noel Quinlan's inmate travelled well for a long way before eventually being beaten five lengths into seventh (of 15) in a good Newmarket maiden and is expected to come on a great deal for that experience.

Several of these have already posted pleasing efforts, notably by Major Crispies and Meaning of Life, but the expensively-purchased Godolphin newcomer Mathematics makes plenty of appeal on paper, and gets the vote.

This appears a good opportunity for GIN TIME to get off the mark. The David Evans-trained filly has been knocking on the door in sellers and maidens since her debut in April and finished ahead of a subsequent winner when fourth at Chester latest. This looks her easiest opportunity to date and she can get the better of My Little Friend and Flora Medici, both of whom are expected to be seen in a better light when tackling longer distances. Ivan B has shown nothing of note in three starts.

LEVI DRAPER's Salisbury seasonal reappearance success is sandwiched between two all-weather wins and he handled the step up to 7f well when scoring in decisive fashion at Kempton last month. He is clearly on the upgrade and can make the most of racing off just 1lb higher on his turf return to complete the four-timer. It may have been the step up to 1m and not his revised mark that put paid to Darnathean's hat-trick bid at Lingfield and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back on his return to this distance. Afkar is weighted to be on the premises again.

Watch out for: Darnathean (5)

Levi Draper had a bit in hand when completing his hat-trick at Kempton last time and is hard to oppose back on turf off just a 1 lb higher mark. Darnathean and First Class could be the pair to follow him home.

C&D winner IMAGINARY DIVA goes well here and arrives in good heart so looks sure to be in the shake-up. She is the safest bet but could be given plenty to think about by Megaleka, who shaped as though her turn was near when narrowly beaten off a 2lb lower mark at Redcar 12 days ago. Imperial Spirit has claims on his third over this track and trip off the same mark latest but is now a 15-race maiden and is becoming frustrating to follow.

Watch out for: Megaleka (8)

Megaleka does need to prove she can string good runs together but she hasn't been with her current yard long and a repeat of the form she showed at Redcar last time could be enough here. The reliable Imaginary Diva and last week's C&D third Imperial Spirit head the dangers.

HYDRANT's good form shows no sign of drying up and he is effectively only 3lb higher than when scoring with ease at Beverley last week. He should be able to dictate from the front again today and is fancied to complete the hat-trick, although Willow Beck will be no pushover. John Gosden's four-year-old was having only her second start when landing a 7f Wolverhampton maiden when last seen in November and is very interesting up in trip for her handicap/seasonal debut. Sweet Martoni rates best of the rest.
