Bennys Mist completed a hat-trick when justifying favouritism on his seasonal/chase debut at Exeter earlier this month and Venetia Williams' charge is respected making his handicap bow over fences. The value appears to lie elsewhere, however, and GOLDEN CHIEFTAIN could be worth siding with. Forgiven his reappearance at Chepstow over 3m, he's expected to have stripped fitter for that run and it is interesting that connections turn to the first-time cheekpieces off this 2lb lower mark. Current Event and Simply Wings are others for the shortlist.

WILD RHUBARB got the 3m well when exploiting a mark of 110 on her handicap bow over timber at Uttoxeter in May and, while returning from a 158-day absence today, she won with plenty in hand on that occasion so a 7lb rise in the ratings might not be enough to halt her. Expect the hat-trick-seeking mare to be ridden positively dropping back in trip, but a race-fit Romance Dance is up just 6lb for scoring at Newton Abbot last month and she's given a chance, along with distance winner Kindly Note.
