SOUTHFIELD VIC must concede weight to these rivals but Paul Nicholls' charge beat a decent yardstick by some 25 lengths over C&D in May and boasts a good record when fresh. An above-average performer over hurdles and not done improving yet over the larger obstacles, the son of Old Vic is difficult to get away from. The main danger appears to be Minella Daddy, a good second when last sighted at Haydock over timber and open to any amount of improvement going over fences for the first time, while Kerisper rates best of the rest.

Canton Prince and Precision Five both arrive here following back-to-back wins in recent months and that pair merit the utmost respect despite this being a thoroughly competitive contest. It is a slight surprise to see DAYS OF HEAVEN revert back to hurdling after a successful chasing debut at Kempton in May but the six-year-old should be capable of giving away weight and brushing aside this field before switching back to the larger obstacles. Nicky Henderson's charge remains full of promise and looks sure to appreciate the decent ground on offer. Miss Crick has proved a consistent type and it would be no surprise if there was more to come from her in this sphere, while Masterofdeception showed promise last season and merits much respect.

Charlie Longsdon usually has his string primed at this time of year and there was plenty to like about SARPECH's recent reappearance second at Uttoxeter.
