JOURNEY burst onto the scene with a hugely impressive win in this contest 12 months ago and has clearly been saved for an autumn campaign having gone very close on Champions Day last year when run out of things by Simple Verse. The daughter of Dubawi won well at Haydock back in May and this looks an ideal stepping stone towards a return to Ascot next month. Beautiful Romance has failed to go on with the promise she threatened at the start of the season and she may improve for the return to 1m4f, while the lightly-raced Beautiful Morning has been given plenty of time by Luca Cumani and looks best of the three-year-olds.

There was plenty to like about FORGE's recent conditions success at Haydock earlier this month and the three-year-old can continue the excellent late season run of Sir Michael Stoute. The veteran trainer last claimed this in 2009 with Confront and the selection has a similar profile to that winner seven years ago. His form this season stacks up well with narrow defeats to some classy animals such as Nemoralia, Thikriyaat, Ribchester and Zonderland. Nathra looks likely to be popular in the betting with her three-year-old fillies allowance and a return to her early season form would make her a danger to all, while Custom Cut has performed gamely in defeat this season and must be respected as a former winner of this contest. Gifted Master likes it at this venue and looks sure to set a generous pace once more.

ALFARRIS cost 460,000 euros at the Arqana sale last August and comes from a lovely family which includes dual Group 2 winner Free Port Lux. William Haggas has been in excellent form over the last couple of weeks and it would be no surprise to see the son of Shamardal make a winning debut in a maiden that has gone to some decent sorts in the past, including Crazy Horse and Consort. Red Label was a 375,000 guinea purchase at Tattersalls and comes from a tremendous family with the dam a half-sister to the outstanding Goldikova along with other notables Galikova and Anodin, while No Not Again ran well on debut at Newbury last week when third behind Musawaat and merits plenty of respect.

DAILY BULLETIN bounced back to form in great style last week at Chelmsford when winning comfortably by 3 lengths from an in-form Mark Johnston representative in Huntlaw. John Gosden won this race two years ago with Gm Hopkins, a horse with a similar profile, and the son of Medaglia d'Oro looks to have plenty more to offer off his current handicap mark. Dawn Mirage has been in excellent form throughout the year and has the assistance of Ryan Moore in the saddle, while Absolute Zero bounced back last time and the drop down a furlong will suit. Others to consider include the Mark Johnston pair of Bathos and Beardwood.
