SHANNON'S POSSE made a bright start to his racing career when runner-up over 6f here in May and, with normal improvement expected, he gets the vote to go one better this evening. Orion's Song and the dropped-in-class Incorporater are also expected to go well.
TRUE EXECUTIVE ran out a cosy winner over 6f here last month and, entitled to improve for that first start since November 2011, he will be well fancied to follow up. Jade Dragon and Sorry About That look to be his biggest dangers.
GO GREELEY made a big impression when striking on his racetrack debut over 4 1/2f here in May and any improvement should see him double up. Bold 'n Golden and Spin The King could be left to fight out minor honours.
OPEN DOORS finished three places behind Here's George when fifth over 6f here last month but it was a promising introduction and the runner-up has since put in a lifeless performance over 7f. Katerina Vassilieva's charge is fancied to reverse the form, with Machito another of interest.
MAGIC STRIPE finished well to fill the runner-up berth on his debut over the bare 6f here last month and he should be sharper with that introductory outing behind him. The extra half-furlong is also expected to prove ideal. Malbec showed promise last term and must be accorded respect but newcomer Victory Exchange may pose the selection most problems.
Irish Mission was Canada's top three-year-old filly on the turf last year but she's found life tough in three 2013 starts and the locally-trained SOLID APPEAL numbered Mark Frostad's charge, as well as Northern Passion, among her victims when landing the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes over 1m here in May. The daughter of Successful Appeal hasn't been tested over this far but she finished strongly when causing something of an upset last time and the extra furlong won't prove too much of a hindrance. Hard Not To Like is another for the shortlist, while Graham Motion's shipper Julie's Love could go well at more rewarding odds.
MONCLOVA bolted up in a valuable maiden when last sighted and is taken to go from strength to strength in this allowance contest. Sava River and Best Gift Of All make most appeal of the others.
FORTE DEI MARMI couldn't land a blow in Grade 2 company at Pimlico when last sighted but he's well worth another look now eased in class. Aldous Snow and Fifty Proof are also given a chance.
SOMETHING EXTRA benefitted from a change in tactics when he made all to land a course Grade 2 in May and he can score again under a similar ride. Night Officer and Next Question can also make their presence felt.
UP WITH THE BIRDS landed a $150,000 stakes race here in May and that made it four wins from his last five starts. He's tough to oppose in this sort of mood, so Nipissing and Dynamic Sky might be forced to settle for supporting roles.
PLENTY ELUSIVE is improving for each visit to the track and can build on impressive maiden win at this venue last month. Mercenary and Phil's Dream are other interesting contenders.
SIXTY FOUR MODEL wasn't beaten far in a better course claimer the last day and she can take full advantage of this slight drop in class. Dynamite Night and Marcian rate best of the rest.
