CRISIS AVERTED is reasonably bred (dam a half-sister to a two-year-old Listed winner) and Richard Fahey's charge won't have to be anything special to land this poor maiden. He is taken so score at the expense of Winterwell, who has disappointed since arriving from France but should do better equipped with the first-time visor, and Coiste BoDhar, who has been knocking on the door of late and will appreciate the return to this C&D. The Dandy Yank ought to be on the premises as well, although his official rating looks a touch flattering.

Top Tip: Crisis Averted (4)
Watch out for: Winterwell (2)

Crisis Averted won't need to be anything special to score on debut against mainly disappointing types, and the market will be revealing in regard to his chances. In terms of form, though, The Dandy Yank is the one to beat, for all he looked less than straightforward when a close second on his recent return.

BARBS PRINCESS, second behind Lapis Blue (with Dodina back in third) over C&D 10-days ago, ran her best race to date on that occasion and is taken to reverse the form with Lapis Blue looking vulnerable under a 7lb penalty. Layla's Oasis finished seventh in that contest and would appear in the grip of the assessor at present, while Spray Tan is interesting returning from a break with Tony Carroll's string in fine form at present.

The majority of these have the potential to improve now sent handicapping upped in trip, none more so than MISS VERDOYANTE. Mark Prescott has a wonderful record of racking up a sequence with lowly rated horses, and it will be disappointing if this daughter of Montjeu can't take advantage of a mark of 39 with blinkers on for the first time. Right Of Appeal is a fascinating contender having been seen tackling sprint trips in the summer, while Izbushka and Belle Peinture both have the promise of more to offer. Big Kenny is consistent in this sort of grade and warrants serious respect as well.

The eight-year-old will be difficult to stop reverting to C&D on these terms, with Misleading Promise, who is tried in a first-time visor after a lethargic reappearance at Southwell, looking the main danger. Lucy Bee has plenty to find on the figures but will no doubt show up better in this grade.
