LIGHTONTHEWING, Lock Out and I See The Sea all pulled up in a similar contest at Exeter on New Year's Day, but the former put that well behind him when springing a surprise at Chepstow. Admittedly, that upturn in fortunes coincided with a return to hurdles, but Sue Gardner's 10-year-old boasts a good strike-rate in this sphere and can prove it was no fluke. Paul Nicholls threw MISS ALTEA BLUE in at the deep end on her first start after arriving from France and she had to settle for a well-beaten fifth in a Newbury Listed affair. The four-year-old has been given plenty of time to recover from that British debut and can get back on track.
