In a wide-open contest, it could pay to side with HAITIAN, a consistent sort in better company and whose third in this grade over C&D two starts ago looks the best form on offer tonight. Tribal One was third in a slightly-weaker contest last time and could be the one for the exacta while Moteado was just pipped last time over C&D and has claims despite stepping up in class.
This should go the way of GREEN SECRET, a very easy winner over five and a half furlongs here last time out. He's been running well in better races and looks far too good for these rivals. Trifecta Phil also drops in class and looks the one for the exacta while Plain James is a consistent sort who should be thereabouts.
Bold Agreement has proved a consistent sort in this grade and should go close while Runlikeachampion is also running well and should be in the shake-up. RIO TORRE is far from consistent but won a much better race at Emerald Downs in the summer and would take all the beating if anywhere near his best.
Plenty in with chances but preference is for JET JOCKEY, second in this grade over C&D last time ahead of Venadita (third), Gerific (fifth) and Spellbinding (eighth). She has some form in better contests and should have the edge tonight. Our Kirsty is inconsistent but scored in this grade over C&D last time and might be the one for the exacta.
MOOSE LAKE is less exposed than some of these rivals and his close third in this grade over a route here this month looks the best form on offer and wins him the vote. Hombre Verde has twice finished behind the selection recently and Zahari, who has some good form in better contests, makes more appeal for the exacta.
There was plenty to like about OH LORD's winning performance over track and trip last time and he could prove hard to beat if in the same mood today. The consistent Hold the Advantage and Young Thomas are feared most of the remainder.
Recent runner-up Brotherron'ssister seems sure to have his supporters as he bids to go one better tonight but preference is for CRAFTY WAGER. Lightly raced and open to plenty of improvement, the 3-y-o impressed when winning here last time and looks the type who can build on that opening success. Red Birdie can fill the minor placings.
It remains to be seen whether Carnera retains much of his old ability and he can only be watched here. Preference is for SMART TIME who has plenty in hand when dotting up last month and he is fancied to handle the step up in class and win again. Merle T rates best of the rest.
A tricky looking finale with a few in with a shout. Only the tentative vote goes to TAPIO who was only narrowly edged out here last time. A repeat performance should ensure he makes the frame again although stern opposition should come from Claim the Throne, Slashin Tiger and Ives.
