DAVE'S DECADENCE scored with plenty in hand over six and a half furlongs last month and is fancied to follow up despite dropping back in trip. General Ron S is capable of making his presence felt in this grade and is respected after a cosy win over five and a half furlongs here last time. Frosted Donut is also considered.
Only six go the post but hard to rule any of these out completely. Back in this company, Lightning Finish should prove popular with Casino Kay showing enough of late to be of interest but the one who makes most appeal is SUN CITY who was always getting the better of the reopposing Oak Flat when winning around here last time and has a really good record at this track.
Tiz Wild could be worth a second look on debut having showed up well in a recent workout but experience can often prove vital in these events and preference is for GRAND DANCER who shaped well when third in a similar contest last time and should be up to landing one of these. Kinda Cute rates best of the rest.
Five Star Fortune is entitled to make his presence felt eased in grade but the hat-trick-seeking CONTREVE is preferred, having made it two wins on the bounce when pulling away to score in good style here last month. A better showing from Taste of Battle would come as no surprise but he does have a little bit to prove and Slew City Gold can claim the minor honours.
Cryptic Moon advertised her wellbeing when runner-up here last week but is arguably better over 6f so OUTPUT gets the vote at her expense. The selection finished ahead of that rival over C&D last month and there is little reason to believe the placings will be reversed here. Forbidden Bliss and Little Loca are also considered.
Lakes Inn takes a big drop in class and has to be respected in this company but SANTILLANA is very much on the upgrade following her two course wins and there could be plenty more to come. In an open event, few can be ruled out, including Rossi, who knows what's required at this venue.
BATTLE OF HASTINGS ran like the outing was badly needed when sixth on his return from a layoff here last month and he could be worth another chance to get back to last year's form, which would entitle him to win. Inthyfathershonor boasts respectable form but has been off more than two years and perhaps the selection will have more to fear from Watch Me Go Byebye.
COWBOYSANDINDIANS scored over C&D in January and hinted he would benefit from a return to this trip when second over further when last seen. Gentle Rain lowers his sights and has to be respected now operating at this level while Black Sable and Mike's Trippin should run their usual races and are unlikely to be far away.
The lightly-raced HAIL ST. ELMO didn't seem to improve much between his first and second runs. However, he wouldn't need to build upon his previous two efforts to figure in this low-grade affair and gets a tentative vote. Last Blend finished behind the selection here in February and looks the main threat. There may be more to come from Prison Prayer while Tax Me also warrants consideration.
