Alpha Des Obeaux was presumably some way short of full fitness when last of five on his seasonal/chasing debut at Tipperary earlier this month and he can improve plenty, but it might pay to side with the other Gigginstown runner PRINCE OF SCARS. 4lb higher than the former over hurdles and representing a Gordon Elliott stable going great guns, he certainly has the size and scope to make up into a high-class chaser and this is a good starting point. Sheamus has had his problems but is very good on a going day, while Goulane Chosen is rarely far from the mark.

In a very moderate contest the percentage call appears to be CADAWILL, who has been running consistently well this year and he should be in the mix once again. This does not appear to be the strongest of contests and it looks to be an ideal opportunity for BENSACHUINE to finally break his duck. The son of Beneficial did disappoint at Galway last time but that was a significantly stronger race than this and his previous second-placed finishes are arguably the best pieces of form on offer here. Souphanouvan did not go on from his promising debut but it is too soon to be writing him off, while L'andana is another to note.
