ENOLA GAY made if fourth time lucky over jumps when a well-backed scorer at Catterick just after Christmas and the five-year-old looks worth following again off an unchanged mark under Harry Bannister. Vocaliser is a consistent sort who has taken nicely to fences and can certainly win again soon after finishing second at Leicester nine days ago, while Master Of Verse and The Gipper both arrive with points to prove after recent poor performances.
VOCALISER is already a much better chaser than he was a hurdler, and he seems sure to give it another good go. A case can be made for all 3 rivals, though Enola Gay is feared most on his debut over fences.

The unbeaten Monbeg Legend has impressed for Nicky Henderson in three starts under Rules, but an absence of 177 days and having to tackle this soft ground doesn't look ideal for the eight-year-old. Boite has had a wind operation since his promising Wincanton second behind a potentially smart type, but this can go the way of Paul Nicholls and IRVING. Dropped 5lb for finishing just three-and-a-half lengths behind Champion Hurdle favourite Buveur D'Air last time out, the 10-year-old also has Bryony Frost on board and looks to be fairly well treated back in handicap company.

Geordie Des Champs developed into a useful hurdler on decent ground but he didn't look a natural over fences when last sighted at Aintree and arrives with something to prove - as does his owner's other runner in the race, Matorico. Of more interest is Paul Nicholls' CAPTAIN BUCK'S, who produced a solid round of jumping on testing ground at Wincanton last time. Dadsintrouble jumped well enough at Newbury last time but was still well held at the line.
CAPTAIN BUCK'S looked the winner for much of the home straight over a slightly longer trip at Wincanton on Boxing Day and can come good at the third time of asking over fences. Matorico should find this a bit easier than the open handicaps he's contested on recent starts and could be the one to follow Paul Nicholls' charge home.

Djin Conti finished third on his sole start in France and he has joined a yard in good form at the moment. KAUTO RIKO was an impressive winner at Newcastle shortly before Christmas and he will be very hard to beat today, despite an 8lb rise for that success. Ut Majeur Aulmes has been knocking hard on the door of late and he could prove to be the biggest threat to the selection. However, Space Oddity cannot be completely discounted as this is a drop in grade for Harry Fry's gelding.
A few of these have a bit to prove at present and the most solid option is KAUTO RIKO, who won in good style on his chase debut/reappearance and is open to further progress. Ut Majeur Aulmes finds winning difficult these days but is largely consistent and could be the one for the forecast spot.
