Neil Mulholland arrives double handed from his Wiltshire base and both of his charges have prospects in the opener. Johns Luck went down fighting at Ffos Las latest but is not easy to win with, while Ashcott Boy completed a hat-trick when last sighted at Plumpton in November but is 9lb higher now and may have to give best to MOSCOW ME. The son of Moscow Society finished well beaten at Carlisle last time but he is forgiven that blip and may still be open to further progress over the larger obstacles.

Former Eoin Doyle inmate Thoonavolla appears to be on a workable mark after a promising start to his career on these shores at Leicester in December, but he appears to go better on faster ground. Foot The Bill is another that prefers to hear his hooves rattle despite posting a good effort on soft when a close third at Musselburgh latest. Top weight Arthamint is likely to be there or thereabouts, but the veteran KILCASCAN goes well around here and on heavy ground, and is taken to return to winning ways having flopped at Huntingdon latest.

Minella Daddy improved on his debut run when winning with something in hand at Fakenham latest and rates the obvious threat, while Kalanisi Glen made his hurdling debut in a warm Ascot race and is expected to fare much better today for the in-form Kim Bailey.

Bertie Lugg made a promising start to life in the handicap ranks when chasing home No Ceiling at Doncaster but the winner did let the form down at Musselburgh subsequently and today's ground and distance set him an altogether different challenge. Tim Vaughan appears to be emerging from a long lean spell and CHAMPAGNE CHASER is fancied to give the Cowbridge handler another welcome winner. The top weight readily justified favouritism at Huntingdon yesterday and Richard Johnson continues in the plate. Stablemate Normandy King is probably bidding for minor honours at best.

CARLO ROCKS is not obviously well handicapped having finished well beaten in two outings since a C&D success in December, but he was well backed before his latest reverse and the booking of Richard Johnson suggests that connections think he may have more left in the locker. Ludlow heavy ground winner Mount Haven is another who appears to be on a stiff enough rating at present but this is a weaker race than the one he contested at Doncaster latest and he may show a little more now back on an easier surface. Touch Back makes most appeal of the remainder.

Crazy looks potentially well handicapped over jumps judged on her flat form and may be happier back at this shorter distance having failed to get home over 2m5f at Ludlow last time out, but the formbook points towards her wanting better ground and DEFINITELY BETTER looks the safest option. Paddy Brennan's mount has been running respectably in slightly better races but has not quite been getting home over further and may be able to return to the winner's enclosure now down in distance. Pandorica and Solstice Dawn are others to consider in a rather trappy contest.

DEFINITELY BETTER has been shaping well for some time, curling up late over 19.3f having gone like a well-handicapped mare at Musselburgh last month, so this looks a good opportunity for her back in trip. Solstice Dawn is the chief threat if coping with a marked drop in distance.
