Odd Ball returned to form when second in a 0-50 at Wolverhampton last month and remains competitively handicapped despite a 2lb rise in the weights. However, Lisa Williamson's gelding needs to demonstrate his effectiveness on this slower surface and over this longer trip, so the vote goes to FEARLESS POET. Bryan Smart's representative has winning course form and scored over this trip at Kempton in January. 4lb higher now, he remains weighted to win more races. Sopran Nad and Bonnie Prince Blue are both sliding down the weights and are others to consider.
Fearless Poet has twice gone off too hard since scoring at Kempton in January, but this won't take much winning and he's given a chance to redeem himself. Odd Ball finished with a flourish at Wolverhampton last time, and looks next best. Sopran Nad completes the shortlist.

STAND GUARD notched his first course victory when landing a 1m4f handicap here last month and rates the one to beat now eased into selling grade. John Butler's charge comes out best at the weights and looks the most likely winner. Trans Sonic is effective under these conditions but his losing run dates back a year. The assessor has cut his all-weather mark 13lb since his last run so he could attract interest in the bidding ring after - as he's undoubtedly well-treated on his best form ahead of a return to handicaps. River Ardeche is effective at this level but has produced his best form to date over shorter.
A good opportunity for Stand Guard to follow up his recent 1½m handicap success here. River Ardeche is the only other one in the line-up with solid recent form, but he still has quite a bit to find and will need the selection to underperform.

MEDITERRANEAN SEA has raised her game on fibresand this winter and notched a hat-trick when scoring over 1m3f here last month. John Jenkins' mare has been raised 4lb for her troubles but remains eligible for 0-75 races and should continue to give a good account of herself when operating at this level. Storm Hawk and Magic Millie are proven around here and are capable of making their presence felt but the main danger appears to be the unexposed Ace Serve, who is making her handicap debut on the back of a career-best second in a 1m4f course maiden.
Cotton King isn't on a bad mark on the pick of his form and he could be worth chancing on this new surface on his return to action. Magic Millie and Storm Hawk could prove best of the rest.

King Of Windsor was never placed to challenge when flopping on his first run for Keith Dalgleish at Kempton last time but needs to prove his effectiveness on this slower surface. Bigger dangers are Beautiful Day, who is seeking a C&D hat-trick but returns from an 81-day absence, and the unexposed Great Expectations, who steps up in trip after an impressive 7f maiden win here latest.
Colour Guard is unpenalised for a C&D win last week, and with plenty more to come from him after just 3 runs, he'll be hard to contain. Beautiful Day and Great Expectations are taken to fill the minor honours.
