Pearl Noir has turned in improved efforts here the last twice, backing up his 6f maiden victory with a fair second in a classified stakes contest over the same distance latest. Over this sharper trip, however, preference is for MAJOR MUSCARI, who was second behind subsequent winner Sir Geoffrey on his last run over C&D last month and has held his form well in two Polytrack outings since. Amis Reunis could also take a hand.

A really tricky sprint handicap in which the tentative vote goes to Imjin River who, whilst on a long losing run, ran his best race for some time at Lingfield on Tuesday, goes on the surface and looks on a handy mark. BEACHWOOD BAY is a dual C&D winner and is racing off the same mark as when winning over 7f here in 2012. Touched off by only a length off 1lb lower over the latter trip here last month, Jo Hughes' six-year-old looks weighted to finish on the premises. Borough Boy is turned out under a penalty for his classified stakes win here last week and a big run from the runner-up in that race, Pearl Noir, earlier on today's card, would boost his claims. Ivestar also has claims if transferring his recent Polytrack form onto this slower surface.

HANNAHS TURN has recorded three of her five course victories over this trip and looked as if 5f may now be on the sharp side for her when beaten by four lengths by Powerful Wind last time. Alternatively, it may now be that the handicapper has her measure, but the return of 5lb claimer Shelley Birkett in the saddle should help in that respect and she's given another chance in view of her strong course record. Greenhead High blew away the cobwebs in a claimer last time while Dorback is hurtling down the weights and is also worth a market check.

A 3lb rise is unlikely to be prohibitive to further progress with the same claiming jockey in the saddle and he's expected to give his running, albeit in a stronger-looking contest, once again. Frontier Fighter ran solid course yardstick Dubai Hills close when runner-up over 7f in December but he's 5lb higher here. Touch The Clouds has been in good form at plating level recently, but this is tougher, while Exceeding Power may be vulnerable under a penalty after scraping home by a neck here on Wednesday. Recent Wolverhampton maiden winner Queenie's Home ran well over 7f on her penultimate outing and is another worthy of consideration.
