C&D winner NOMADIC STORM carries a 7lb penalty for success at Plumpton last week and looks the most solid option in this opener. Got The Nac could emerge as a leading danger as he achieved a decent level of form over hurdles and represents a stable in flying form. Frizzo likes to get on with things in front and is capable on his day, whereas Flichity is 35lb wrong and needs a sharp reversal in fortunes to get on the premises.

Watch out for: Got The Nac (2)

NOMADIC STORM has done precious little wrong since switched to fences, boasting a 50% strike rate in this sphere, and David Bridgwater's charge will take plenty of stopping under a penalty. Got The Nac makes his chase/handicap debut off a fair-looking mark and, with Frizzo needing to bounce back following a string of below par efforts, he is feared most.

TARABELA appeared to bump into a well-handicapped rival when runner-up at Lingfield and is potentially well treated on her current mark as she scored from 14lb higher over hurdles last term. Kilcascan is only reluctantly passed over, though, because he ran a brave race from 5lb lower at Taunton and can give another bold account from the front. Dixie Bull couldn't follow up his somewhat fortuitous Ffos Las victory when last sighted at Uttoxeter but probably shouldn't be discounted just yet. The booking of Noel Fehily looks positive for Hi Vic, who is entitled to strip fitter for a run between the flags in December.

Watch out for: Kilcascan (5)

TARABELA can resume winning ways if taking to cheekpieces having run well off this mark at Lingfield recently. Dixie Bull caught the eye at Uttoxeter last time and is a big danger along with the returning Kilcascan.

TOBY LERONE has held his own in some competitive handicap chases this term, including when finishing a four-length runner-up in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock two starts back. Reverting to timber, Dan Skelton's charge should prove too strong for these rivals in first-time cheekpieces. The Wexfordian has also been over fences this term and ran a promising race back in this sphere at Uttoxeter. He is feared most, although a big run from the penalised Royale Django wouldn't come as a shock if he bounces back to the form he showed when winning at Perth last June.

The application of blinkers almost did the trick for MONDO CANE when he finished second over fences at Sedgefield and he looks unexposed on just his fourth start over timber. Broome Lane could be a big danger as she found just one rival too strong on her handicap debut and competes from the same mark. Sand Artist ran well over the bigger obstacles at this track in December and can get on the premises, while Oscar O'scar was far from disgraced at Newcastle.

Top Tip: Mondo Cane (4)
Watch out for: Broome Lane (6)

Though he's cut little ice over hurdles so far, MAZURATI clearly possesses ability judged on his efforts in a couple of bumpers last spring and could be seen in an altogether better light now pitched into a handicap. Broome Lane, Mondo Cane and Oscar O´Scar should all be on the premises, too.

UGLY BUG hasn't really fired since he was sent chasing by his new trainer this term, but he looks well treated over hurdles on the pick of his best form and might be worth a chance in an open contest. Pyrshan is an attractive alternative as he bumped into a smart winner when fifth at Kempton and can make more of an impact in handicap company. High Ron is a player as he is unexposed over hurdles, and Mr Cardle is worth a market check for an in-form stable.

Watch out for: Pyrshan (1)

Trappy to say the least, but HOLLOW TREE really ought to be competitive, and with his yard among the winners of late, he receives the vote. Pyrshan makes his handicap debut in a very winnable race, while High Ron has a lower hurdles mark to exploit.

DONT CALL ME OSCAR is tough to oppose in his current vein of form as he landed a hat-trick at Wincanton last Wednesday. A 7lb penalty takes him 25lb higher than the first win in the sequence but the nature of his latest victory suggests there might be even more to come. Zero Visibility looks a leading player too because he was far from disgraced over fences at Bangor and had been in good nick over timber prior to that. Stablemates Bobby Dove and Stag Hill complete the shortlist.
