REHILL RELIC improved from his fourth at Southwell to gain a first victory over the larger obstacles at Huntingdon just before Christmas. A 4lb rise seems more than fair and he is capable of taking another step forward. Largy Train was a beaten favourite here in November, but the drop in trip is likely to benefit him. Others for the shortlist include Dixie Cowboy and Huit Reflets.
REHILL RELIC was worth more than the winning margin last time as he idled in front so should be able to defy a lenient 4lb rise. He remains unexposed over fences and if progressing again can defeat consistent course winner Largy Train whose latest midfield effort has been boosted by the winner recently. Another course winner Dixie Cowboy is also respected as he gets a pull at the weights with Huit Reflets from his defeat last time. The re-opposing rival may find this coming quick enough.

LA ZOUBIDA won her first two starts over hurdles, including over C&D, before struggling in Listed company at Haydock. Nicky Richards' mare has to contend with a 12lb penalty, but this appears a fine opportunity for her to bounce back. Rosie Baloo has been knocking on the door and finished second at Wetherby on Boxing Day. She enters calculations along with Laffer Curve, who was back in fourth on that occasion.
An unusually strong novice for this track where dual winner La Zoubida sets a clear standard and is likely to prove popular. She found the drop in trip unsuitable at Listed level last time but the form has been franked and she holds strong claims back up in distance. However she must give weight to LAFFER CURVE who showed very useful form in bumpers and shaped well on her hurdle debut. She finished a couple of places behind Rosie Baloo that day but she was given far too much to do and should improve under a more positive ride with the experience behind her. With the promise of more to come for a top yard she is picked to spring a surprise.

As all of these have something to prove for one reason or another, ITURGEON DU BREUIL could provide some value off bottom weight. The eight-year-old is not without risk, but he has undergone wind surgery so improvement is anticipated. Tom Creen is a five-time course winner, although never over this far. Therefore, Delgany Deadline and Scottish King, who both run in first-time cheekpieces, are higher on the shortlist in their quests for first career successes.
DELGANY DEADLINE didn't quite match his best hurdle form on his chase debut but he proved his stamina for 3m and should make significant improvement with that experience behind him. The cheekpieces should sharpen up his jumping and help him defeat consistent veteran Tom Creen. The top weight has a liking for this venue but will need to prove his stamina having mainly been seen at around 2 1/2m. The inconsistent Nights In Venice has dropped to an attractive mark and hinted at a revival last time so is also of interest at a bigger price.
