In a wide-open contest it might pay to side with KALKAN BAY. Always held when second at Bangor latest, that was a big improvement on his debut effort and he drops slightly in class today. The main danger looks to be Szabo's Destiny, a close second at Market Rasen on his hurdling debut but chances might also be given to Operateur, Residence And Spa, Bernisdale and Cordillera, who have all shown signs of ability.
Szabo's Destiny made an encouraging start over hurdles when in front of Residence And Spa last month and can get off the mark here. Operateur is of a similar ability on the Flat to that pair and could figure also on the back of a promising jumps debut himself.

Although he looked out of his depth in a Grade 2 race at Kelso, PRICELESS ART has impressed in his other three runs over timber, breaking his duck with a good effort over this trip at Bangor last month. He could be capable of following up today. Heart Of Dubai was well beaten at Cartmel latest but scored at the same track in June and has claims on his best form, while Shifting Gold and Douglas can't be ruled out.
Priceless Art has found a good opportunity to follow up last week's Bangor victory. Heart of Dubai and previous course winner Shifting Gold make most appeal to fight out the minor money, the latter back hurdling after another profitable spell on the Flat.

Executive's Hall landed a hat-trick over hurdles earlier in the year and has run well over fences, but is still a maiden after 11 starts over the bigger obstacles. Agente Romano is slightly flattered by his form figures over fences but looks open to further improvement. Preference, however, is for THE KEALSHORE KID, twice a winner over fences. A good second at Southwell latest, he looks capable of going one better off this handicap mark.
Executive's Hall hasn't looked back since joining Ben Haslam and can gain a first chasing success here. The Kealshore Kid is well treated and could be the biggest danger ahead of Ginger's Lad.

He was a closing second over 2m 3f here last month on his handicap debut and, although up 3lb today, can go one better with improvement expected. Balamory Dan, the winner of that race, may struggle to confirm the placings with his less-exposed rival while Overbranch is on a hat-trick after two chase wins here but is 11lb higher than her last winning mark over timber.
Bandanaman may well have more to come over this longer trip and he can reverse earlier form with Balamory Dan this time. Hat-trick seeking Overbranch is another to consider off her lower hurdles mark.

That was only his second start over the bigger obstacles and he looked an impressive recruit to the chasing game. Big Burrows scored over fences here last May but his jumping has fallen apart since, while Altan Khan seems to have lost his way over hurdles but might be rejuvenated by switching to chasing.
Callisto Moon put his 3 rivals to the sword at Bangor last week with a fine front-running performance. He'll be hard to beat if in the same sort of form, chasing newcomer Altan Khan perceived as the main threat if taking to fences.

CLAUDE CARTER continues to threaten a big performance following a run of three consecutive second place finishes and despite this further 2lb rise in the ratings, he can finally break his maiden tag at the twentieth attempt. Distance winner Pete bounced back to something like his best at Perth in July and must be taken seriously, likewise the Evan Williams owned and trained Argaum, if allowed to take his chance following an engagement at Newton Abbot on Monday.
Argaum took a step forward when deservedly opening his hurdling account at Hereford recently, and though beaten under an even more aggressive ride at Newton Abbot on Monday, still has decent prospects of carrying his penalty to victory. Agricultural could prove a bigger threat than the weak-finishing Claude Carter if repeating his latest improved effort.
