Verdict

Highveld-based trainer Alec Laird has taken a few improving sorts down to the coast and he is doing the same with LADY LENNOX. She is still learning what it's all about and had things go wrong last time out. She can make the required improvement. FREEDOM SQUARE didn't give in when second over the course and distance, beaten as favourite last time. Stable mate LADY GREENSLEEVES did finish ahead of her before and is also holding form. Could get close. DAME MAZONA is going about it the right way and having drawn better should have every chance. She could prefer more ground.

Verdict

BIRTHRIGHT showed good promise as a juvenile. He could be heading for better things but is racing after a layoff and is trying further. VIBE SA was unlucky to lose his second start. He made good improvement to show he won't be a maiden for much longer. He switches back to the turf and the longer distance should suit. ANDY COOGLE had been coming along steadily before being tested in the Grade 2 Durban Golden Horseshoe. Gelded and with blinkers, he could show more. PALACE REVOLT caught the eye in a feature last time. He looks to have the pace to keep going. DYNALLEY is another with claims.

Verdict

NAVAJO NATION could be well placed. He hasn't done badly over shorter and on pedigree should relish the longer distance, even perhaps needing further in future. TICKALOX did a lot better with frontrunning tactics last time. He finished second best and can open his account if enjoying the extra. He should see it out on pedigree. JET BUND would be deserving. He has shown versatility and this could be the right race as it doesn't look strong on form. Watch out for improvement from SILVER ALERT. By Silvano out of a Jet Master mare he is bred in the purple.

Verdict

TIN CUP had excuses last time, but finished close up in his two prior starts. He should strip fitter in his second run after a rest and has drawn well. ARVERNI KING is also holding form but needs to find a little more for a second career victory. He has finally drawn well after a string of wide gates and the blinkers have also been reached for again. TWICE GOLDEN is never one to ignore at this venue. He is a specialist that again benefits from a 4kg apprentice claim. He may prefer the going soft. Respect BANZAI PIPELINE, QUANTIFIER, TOM BOMBADIL and CYBER TIME.

COIN SPINNER is knocking at the door again. His stable has found form and a 4kg apprentice claim should work in his favour. RULERSHIP has some good recent form and was second to star sprinter Isivunguvungu in his penultimate but he will have to run to his very best to win with top weight. Verdict

SHONA KIRSTY YVES looked dangerous a few runs back but then made no impression on the poly thereafter. She has dropped in ratings, benefits from a 4kg apprentice claim and rates the value proposition. CINNAMON BLUSH enjoyed keeping her head in front last time and could do so again. She loves this course and is the one to catch. MISS GIBSON has yet to win at this venue but has run three good races in a row here and would be deserving. She is, however, dropping in distance. FASHION MISTRESS seems capable of better. She has drawn well and with consistent BIRDWATCHER must be included in exotics.

Verdict

PASSAGE OF POWER can go one better after finishing runner-up in his last two. The horses he met, namely Beechamwood Boy and Celestial City, have been in terrific form and are on the up. It could, however, also be the right race for SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI who looks to have victories over the course and distance in the bank. CAPTAIN CASEY can't be faulted and just needs to get the timing right. He will be out to maintain his 100 percent record at this venue. PAISLEY PARK and FORMAGEAR rate dangerous customers racing handily.
