Ryan Moore is an eye-catching jockey booking aboard the Willie Haggas-trained newcomer Nosedive who is choicely bred and has been working well enough to warrant an entry in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy later in the year. He will be one to note in the market but it can often pay to side with previous racecourse experience and MASTER OF DANCE displayed much improved form when finishing fourth in a Goodwood maiden last month. There should be further improvement to come and he is fancied to give trainer Richard Hannon yet another juvenile winner. England rates best of the rest.

Handicap debutante Sharpened Edge warrants obvious respect having turned in a solid performance when finishing third in a Salisbury maiden last month, but preference is for SONG OF PRAISE who didn't enjoy the clearest of passages when second at Lingfield eight days ago and the three-time winner is fancied to regain the winning thread today. Hillside Lad (fourth) was a beaten favourite when behind Piste (second) at Goodwood last time but he is capable of much better than that and ought to make more of an impact here.

Branderburgo showed up well for a long way when sixth on his racecourse debut at Doncaster and ought to do better with that initial experience under his belt, but a chance is taken on BIKINI BABE. Mark Johnston's filly was really well backed prior to disappointing on her debut last month but she is clearly capable of much better and it would come as no surprise to see her bounce back to form. My Red Kite shaped with plenty of encouragement on his Leicester introduction, with Bitter Man and Mass Rally making most appeal of the newcomers and worth monitoring in the betting.

A fascinating handicap and the vote goes to ROAR OF APPLAUSE who has thrived in recent months and caught the eye when third behind a decent sort in Mirrored over this C&D just over three weeks ago. Australia Day has yet to really build on the considerable promise he displayed when beating Presvis in impressive style over C&D last summer and is probably best watched for now, so a chance is taken on MUBROOK who shaped with considerable promise when chasing home the likes of Duncan and Cape Tribulation in maiden contests last summer and looks the type to excel this year for Newmarket handler Luca Cumani. Wintercast, fifth over 1m here last time, and recent C&D runner-up Dr Livingstone make up the short-list.

Nbhan looks a likely type stepped up in trip on his handicap debut and strong market confidence behind his chance would have to be respected. However, MITRA JAAN displayed plenty of promise last term and looked in need of a longer trip when not beaten too far in sixth on her handicap debut over a mile at Windsor in April. With the benefit of a stiffer test today, she is fancied to open her account. Others with claims in an open heat are last month's Salisbury runner-up North Cape and handicap debutant Peace Corps.
