Shamshon drops into class 3 company for the first time since a close-up third here in July and he should go close again, while the ultra consistent Justice Lady and Epsom third Majestic Hero are just a couple more with claims. Preference, however, is for BAHAMIAN SUNRISE. He backed up his comfortable C&D success with a narrow defeat at Brighton and, with Silvestre De Sousa a positive jockey booking, the front-running five-year-old will make a bold bid for home once more.
The vote goes to JUSTICE LADY, who is just 2 lb higher compared to when striking at Doncaster in July and, with no shortage of potential pace angles, this race could be teed-up nicely for the 4-y-o. The prospect of a frenetic gallop also heightens the appeal of C&D winner Shamshon, while Show Steeler is unproven at the minimum trip but she is another to consider off a potentially handy mark.

A cracking renewal of this top two-year-old contest which has produced classic contenders in the past. John Gosden took this in 2013 with Kingman, and the same connections look to repeat the feat with Purser, who looks to build on his eye-catching Newbury performance where he shaped like there could be plenty more to come. Course and distance winner Connect has to be considered on the back of his impressive victory over the well regarded Westerland, where Clive Cox's youngster put six lengths between himself and the well backed favourite. However, the form of MASAR's third in the Chesham at Royal Ascot looks rock solid, and the son of New Approach is the one they all have to try and pass here.
MASAR's Chesham form is the best on offer and he's the one to beat here with further progress very much on the cards after just 2 starts, but there are some promising sorts in against him in what looks a good renewal of this Group 3. Purser looked smart when justifying market support on his debut and is a possible big threat, while Connect and Vintager also arrive on the back of impressive wins.

Only two older horses have won this race in the last ten years and one of those dead-heated with a three-year-old. That said, the classic generation is not well represented in this field, with Tisbutadream being the pick of them, but she is vulnerable. Aljazzi won a Listed race at Kempton back in April but she has been raised 10lb in the ratings for her second-placed finish in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot. She will be extremely hard to beat today if showing that form but she has never run to that level before and can be taken on. NATHRA has twice finished second in Group 1 company and two of her last three starts have seen the filly finish third in a Group 2 company against the colts. Back against her own sex, the daughter of Iffraaj can make it back-to-back victories in this race for John Gosden. Intimation also represents a yard with a good record in this contest and she was far from disgraced when finishing second in a Group 3 at the Curragh last weekend.
NATHRA looked back to her best when third behind a couple of very smart sorts in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury 2 weeks ago and has solid claims back against her own sex. Aljazzi ran a blinder when runner-up in the Duke of Cambridge at Royal Ascot and rates a serious threat on that effort, while Intimation also makes the shortlist for a yard that have won this event a record 6 times.

Across Dubai was tried in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood on ground that was too soft when not disgraced behind leading St Leger candidate Crystal Ocean so a return to handicap company against older horses makes him look an appealing proposition. However, he would need the ground to dry out and, with doubts over the other leading three-year-old contenders Monarchs Glen, who has to settle early, and Euginio, whose handicap win here hasn't worked out particularly well, the in-form SILVER GHOST makes plenty of appeal. The son of Dark Angel has won his last three starts and was notably impressive when beating the well-handicapped Eynhallow over C&D at the end of July. Conditions will suit however they turn up and he can defy a 10lb rise in the weights. Pacify remains fairly treated on his best form along with the progressive Thundering Blue who arrives seeking a hat-trick.
EUGINIO was still learning when getting up late over C&D from a 2 lb lower mark earlier in the season and, having shaped well in Group 3 company since, he remains capable of better, so he gets the narrow vote to overcome another progressive 3-y-o in Across Dubai, with the well-handicapped Pacify a huge danger if the pace is a strong one.

A tight handicap but CHEEKY RASCAL ran a cracker behind stable companion Billesdon Brook in a similar nursery at Goodwood, the form of which has been boosted by the subsequent Group 3 success of the winner. A mark of 75 seems fine and he is just preferred to Jedi Master, close behind the selection in that Goodwood contest. Lethal Lunch impressed when scoring at Ascot and is well worth shortlist inclusion on his first start for Clive Cox, whilst Alkhalifa and Barford are also of interest.
LIVINGSTONES QUEST beat a decent type when making all at Ffos Las and, assuming he proves equally effective on the forecast quicker ground, he may well follow up here off a potentially decent opening mark. Crownthorpe has upped his game the last twice and has to be feared, along with Cheeky Rascal and Jedi Master, both of whom posted solid efforts in the same Goodwood nursery last month.

It might pay to side with handicap debutant NAJASHEE representing the in-form Owen Burrows stable. A progressive colt, he readily beat subsequent winner Big Tour in maiden company Haydock when last sighted and this opening mark of 78 looks fairly lenient. Grand Inquisitor posted a solid placed effort off this mark at Newbury last time and the past course winner should go close again, while High Draw and Exceeding Power add further spice to the event.
A chance is taken on LADY PERIGNON, who was runner-up over C&D off a similar mark on her final start of 2016 and will appreciate dropping back in trip on better ground, having found 1¼m on deep ground too much of a test at Goodwood. Najashee still looked a work in progress when landing a Haydock maiden and is feared most. Fire Tree and Grand Inquisitor both merit respect, too.
