CLOUDY START was turned over at odds-on at Yarmouth but may well have bumped into a useful prospect in the shape of John Gosden's Alwaary. He only gave way in the final furlong and should be suited by this step down in trip to 7f. Taazur has claims after a string of reasonable placed efforts but his Yarmouth nursery form does not measure up to that of the selection. HAIL PROMENADER failed to justify market expectations at Sandown over the minimum trip but all the indications are that he will appreciate this longer journey and he is worth chancing. Striker Torres is hard to evaluate, having been well beaten at Pontefract behind two potentially useful types but staying on steadily for third and better is expected from Citizenship.

Putting a line through any of these is difficult and every runner is sure to be an each-way price in a practically impossible conundrum of a race. Getting a good early pitch is likely to be crucial and EZDEYAAD adopted such tactics when obliging over C&D in the summer. He has continued to progress since then and was just touched off in a decent heat at Pontefract last time. Front-running tactics may once again see him go close, with Medici Pearl, Opus Maximus and Reel Buddy Star just a trio that could make their presence felt.

STRAIGHT SETS stands out here as he is by far the least exposed of this field.
