Bless The Wings ran a fantastic race to be third in the Grand National behind stable companion Tiger Roll but this is a quick turnaround after such a gruelling race at Aintree and he may prove vulnerable to one of the JP McManus battalion. Cantlow was pulled up at Cheltenham and first-time blinkers could see him in a much better light, but this looks the chance for AUVERGNAT to gain his big cross country prize. He was fourth at Cheltenham but this is undoubtedly an easier task and he may have more to offer compared to some of his stablemates.

Willie Mullins performed a remarkable training feat to get PENHILL to win the Stayers' Hurdle on his first appearance in the best part of a year, and he can only be expected to improve now he has the run under his belt. Last year's winner Minella Awards returns but he has had only a handful of runs since 2015 and was bitterly disappointing when fancied for the Haydock race won by Sam Spinner in November. Gordon Elliott holds a strong hand, particularly with Pertemps Final runner-up Glenloe and FOLSOM BLUE, who was extremely unlucky not to win the Irish National. The former will need to settle better than he did at Cheltenham so preference is for his stablemate as he looks a reformed character and has form in decent handicap hurdles this season. Ainsi Va La Vie could prove best of the Willie Mullins brigade having had a break since a below-par effort behind Laurina at Fairyhouse in January, Dicey O'reilly and Last Goodbye both have scope for more improvement over timber.

It is impossible to look beyond FOOTPAD, who hammered Petit Mouchoir in the Irish Arkle and Cheltenham equivalent, and although he was forced to miss Aintree due to a slight setback, he should cap an unbeaten novice campaign with a fifth success. Petit Mouchoir is forecast material, although Castlegrace Paddy was really impressive when landing a Listed affair at Thurles and the best is still to come from him.

GLENS HARMONY made a favourable impression as a bumper horse and won nicely on her hurdles debut at Thurles back in October. She has been off the track since but remains open to plenty of improvement.
