PINK HAT has yet to convert the ability she showed in NH Flat races to hurdles, but her half-sister Tasitiocht needed a step up to 2m4f to get off the mark over timber, so the champion trainer's charge may be able to bounce back. Dantes Firth got the better of her when finishing second before being pitched into Grade 3 company and he is a big threat if turned out after Saturday's fifth at Fairyhouse. Chancol will need to improve his jumping if he is to confirm the promise he showed when winning a Navan bumper in December.

ARVIKA LIGEONNIERE underlined his position as one of Ireland's top novice chasers when winning at the Punchestown Festival in April, but he blotted his copybook for the first time since when he was defeated at Leopardstown over Christmas. However, a return to a right-handed track should see him back to his best and he looks tough to oppose. If the selection is below par then Galway Festival winner Rathlin might be the biggest danger as he holds the same official rating and arrives fresh from a hurdling sighter at Naas. Sword Fish is interesting as the sole representative of JP McManus, and he looked a useful staying chaser in the making when landing the Cork National last November. The eight-year-old ought to be competitive despite racing off 14lb higher, while Popcorn cut little ice on the back of a long lay-off the last day but the fact his powerful connections have persevered with him entitles the 11-year-old to plenty of respect. Quito De La Roque clearly isn't the force of old but he's always shaped as though this trip would be within his compass, and a mark of 150 looks workable. Preference, however, is for JUPITOR, who has made a strong impression in novice company this winter and this marathon test ought to bring about more improvement. He can score off his attractive racing weight.
