DAWAA sets the form standard on her distance second at Newcastle last time and should finish in the shake-up if her wide draw can be overcome. Richard Fahey has won the last two runnings of this contest and saddles up 110,000-euro newcomer Kiri Sunrise as well as Middleham Park Racing-owned pair Sunnua and Canford Kilbey, the pick of which appears to be Sunnua, who shaped as if an extra furlong would suit when third on debut at Hamilton.

Watch out for: Sunnua (8)

DAWAA clearly dervied plenty from her debut run when runner-up at Newcastle 2 weeks ago, and with further improvement on the cards, she should prove hard to beat. Big Sky and Sunnua are a pair of once-raced sure-fire improvers, while confidence behind expensive debutante Kiri Sunrise would look noteworthy.

FAITH MATTERS shaped with promise when fourth on her seasonal return over 1m2f at Chelmsford last month, keeping on well in the closing stages. Marco Botti's filly is entitled to come on for that outing and this step up in distance is expected to unlock some improvement given she's a half-sister to Henry Candy's staying handicapper Cosette. Spring Dixie has been knocking on the door lately and looks a bigger threat than Aussie Berry and Europa based on what they have shown so far.

The top-rated Gatewood makes plenty of appeal with a reappearance run under his belt and he may have enough class to win despite potentially quick conditions. Connecticut was most progressive last term and ranks high on the shortlist, but his 253-day absence tempers enthusiasm for his chances. The nod goes to RED GALILEO, who ran an encouraging race over this trip at Ascot two starts back and represents a yard buoyed by Thursday's Gold Cup triumph. This is a big leap in class for C&D winner Only Orsenfoolsies after a handicap success at Hamilton.

This looks a pretty unattractive betting heat but ARETHUSA sets a fair standard after making decent headway from the rear of the field to take third at Sandown. Pearl Earing might be a player as she was pitched into a much stronger 0-105 handicap at Ripon on her first start for new connections and should appreciate a drop in class. La Dorotea and Atlantic Affair clearly aren't their stables' leading lights, but perhaps they warrant a market check regardless.
