Dual course chase winner Rossini's Dancer warrants plenty of respect on his return from a break, but BUTNEY ROCK gets the nod. There was certainly no disgrace in finishing four and a half lengths behind subsequent winner Bayan when second over an extended 2m here last time and stepping up half a mile in trip will pose no problems whatsoever, as he won a 2m4f Gowran bumper in June. Sedgefield scorer Red Eyes adds further spice to the contest, along with hurdling newcomer Mysteree, who finished third in a course bumper 152 days ago.

Top Tip: Butney Rock (2)
Watch out for: Rossini's Dancer (5)

Red Eyes got the job done at Sedgefield earlier this month and should again give his running. However he looks vulnerable under a penalty to Butney Rock who bumped into a real improver over 2m here last time and will relish the step back up in trip now. Mysteree can fill third spot.

Course form often stands up around here and that's why DIDDLEY DEE makes plenty of appeal. The nine-year-old backed up his 2m5f track success when third in a class 4 handicap over C&D last time and the combination of dropping in both grade and in the ratings (eased 1lb following latest effort) should see him bang there. Oh Right is 6lb higher than when a close-up second at Cartmel but a repeat performance can see him go close, while chances are also given to Solway Dornal and Kilvergan Boy, who won around here back in June 2011.

A claiming hurdle in name but it is certainly not lacking quality. Irish raider Formal Bid has won two of his last three starts and represents a Gordon Elliott stable that rarely leaves a Perth meeting without claiming some silverware, while Makhzoon is best off at the weights. Outrageous Request also holds claims having won a class 3 handicap over C&D in July, but IT'S A MANS WORLD looks the most likely winner. His two hurdle victories this year, including over track and trip last time, have been impressive and he will prove a tough nut to crack if arriving in the same mood.

MUWALLA stepped up on a couple of solid placed efforts when scoring smoothly over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time and, although a 6lb rise will obviously make life tougher, a repeat performance should see him follow up. Gud Day has been knocking on the door and can give another good account, while Toledo Gold won a C&D novices' chase in June and is certainly no forlorn hope in the first-time hood.

Watch out for: Gud Day (2)

Gud Day doesn't have the best win-to-run ratio over jumps but it's hard to knock his consistency and he gets the vote in the hope that first-time cheekpieces see him pull out a bit more where it matters. Muwalla is the obvious danger.

Tinctoria is 7lb better off with Aficionado for a five-length Sedgefield beating and she might be able to reverse placings, while Akdam should reach the frame but looks vulnerable for win purposes having been turned over at skinny odds on his last four starts (including one run on the Flat). Snoqualmie Chief and Estinaad are both respected on their first NH appearances, but preference is for another hurdling newcomer in CHLOE'S IMAGE. A Ripon Flat success 29 days ago shows that she's arriving in good heart and as Philip Kirby continues to churn out the winners, she looks to have a big chance.

It could pay to side with course specialist SCOTCH WARRIOR in what looks a fiercely competitive handicap. He took his number of Perth victories to six when scoring gamely over 2m5f here last time and, with the runner-up subsequently franking that form, he is taken to defy a further 4lb rise. Dark Energy has remained on the same mark as when two and a half lengths (finishing third) behind the selection latest so he automatically commands respect, while hat-trick seeking More Equity and the ultra consistent Raajih also have claims.
