The card opens with a competitive hurdle which could go the way of JE T'AIME. Donald McCain's filly has bumped into a couple of more experienced rivals when finishing second the last twice, but has put good distance between herself and the next horse on both occasions and may oblige here for last year's winning trainer. Fairwood Massini put in a career best over hurdles when breaking his duck over timber at the age of eight and that C&D win might give him a boost, while Dick Dundee looks a fair each-way proposition.

Lucinda Russell picked up this prize last year and LORD OF DRUMS has returned from a break to win a 2m race here and then follow up with a good second over C&D last time. He holds leading claims along with Dj Milan, who knows his way around Perth and has dropped to a fair mark, considering he is rated 8lb higher over hurdles. George Woolf was given a sighter at Stratford last time and should come on for that experience, while Merry Minster could be a bit of value at the bottom of the weights.

Bayan warrants huge respect having made a good start to hurdles, including picking up a C&D success in June. He's since gone on to run a good race on the level at Galway, and will take a lot of beating, but perhaps his price will be short enough and it might be worth giving BUTNEY ROCK a try. A winner of bumper on good to firm ground, he clearly didn't enjoy the testing conditions in a novice hurdle at Galway, and if the rain stays away he should go well. Gordon Elliot's other runner, Goal, completes the shortlist.

TOYE NATIVE is a consistent hurdler and her third over 2m1f here last time was probably up there with her best efforts. The way she stayed on from the final flight suggests she will appreciate this step up in trip and this mark looks manageable. The Tracey Shuffle hasn't been running that well over hurdles, but he drops to a nice mark for David Pipe, and looks a class act if bouncing back to his best. Waltz Darling is interesting up in trip and grade and might be worth a look in the betting beforehand.

SEA LORD has been a bit of a revelation over hurdles, notching up four successive wins including a valuable Listed event at Market Rasen last time. He has to shoulder top weight here but looks to have plenty of improvement to come and is the one to beat. Solaras Exhibition ran a nice race at Stratford last time when winning by five lengths and is another that looks to be going in the right direction. Aazif won by an extended distance at Bangor (runner-up franked the form on Tuesday) and he will love the forecast quick ground.

SCOTCH WARRIOR has won two on the bounce since returning from a break, including a ten length success over C&D last time, and he does all his best racing at Perth (won here five times in total), so is fancied to complete the hat-trick. Acapulco Gold is an interesting Irish raider who was running a bold race when falling at Tipperary latest and he had won a big field Wexford handicap the time before. He must enter calculations, while Quito Du Tresor is 5lb below his last winning mark and hasn't been running badly, so might be a bit of value.

Valleyofmilan was fairly useful over hurdles and jumped fine when getting off the mark at the first time of asking over these obstacles at Cartmel last month.
