PRINCESS ROSE is a bit more experienced than these and, with the ground likely to come up on the faster side and plenty in her pedigree to suggest that 7f will suit, she is fancied to break her duck here. El Beau has run on strongly in his last two starts so he looks to be the proven stamina angle and Kenny The Captain has appeared to want further than 6f.

Watch out for: Kenny The Captain (6)

Gown would be of significant interest but the draw could have been kinder, and for that reason the vote goes to Princess Rose who is steadily progressing, has a handy position in stall 4 and who has suggested a step up to this trip should suit. Lincoln is another to consider, also coming from a handy draw.

BUSHCRAFT has done little wrong so far, winning a Southwell maiden before beating a subsequent winner in his first nursery at Sandown last time, and with a vital low draw, he can continue his improvement here. Weisse Socken won her maiden over C&D, showing her ability to handle Chester's unique challenges, and was unlucky in running when second at Brighton last time, while Dodger Marley is interesting back at 5f on a faster surface.

Watch out for: Dodger Marley (5)

Bushcraft won with plenty to spare at Sandown last time and looks certain to make a bold bid. However it may be worth taking a chance on nursery debutant Dodger Marley who has some fair maiden form to his name and looks feasibly treated now sent handicapping. Blithe Spirit is an admirable filly and is another to consider from stall 1.

He looks unexposed, along with Ajraam, who is back down from Group level and enjoyed the sharp left-handed test of Thirsk but his draw is far from ideal. Correspondent is proven at Chester and shouldn't be discounted.

SMART DAISY K does not look to be without her quirks, but if settling from a good drawl, she looks a big contender based on her recent Haydock win and third here last time. Lastchancelucas has a plum draw, if wishing to deploy the front-running tactics that yielded success as a two-year-old, and Purcell has run well in decent handicaps this year but cost himself the race when hanging left last time.

MARTIAL ART was gelded over the winter and ran a decent race here on reappearance. Despite his last run being somewhat disappointing, he has a decent draw and can go close. Rufoof looks a big threat on his outside and the step back up in trip can put him bang on terms, while Disco Inferno would have a great chance if able to overcome a wide draw.

Iptisam may need further ideally, and Disco Inferno is starting to look a bit exposed, so Rufoof, who was better than the result when third in a Ripon handicap last time, is selected to get off the mark in a race that won't take a great deal of winning.

Last year's nine-length winner, COMMUNICATOR, saves his best for Chester and even a 10lb higher mark than his last success here looks surmountable. Top Chester trainer, Mark Johnston, has a pair of lively contenders, and if Salutation can overcome his wide draw and get the lead he craves, he should go close. Scatter Dice is back down to her last winning mark, while Kiama Bay must enter calculations if the rain arrives.

Watch out for: Salutation (4)

Tactics may play a part here given that most of these like to race prominently and a tentative vote goes to Kiama Bay, who broke a winless sequence going back over 2 years when scoring at Pontefract recently and remains well treated on old form. Salutation may fare best of Mark Johnston's duo while Reve de Nuit and Burnham are not easy to dismiss.
