Only three runners for a 100 000 Euros race !!! (2) AL SHAMOOS has not yet been as good this season as she was last year. However she finds here a great spot to return to the winners enclosure. The obvious threat to the selection is (1) AKOYA who comes in on the back of a Group I success at Deauville. (3) GENERAL LADY is unlikely to be involved for success.

It looks like a two horse race ! (2) WALDGEIST and (3) KISEKI have the same official rating but Andre Fabre's horse seems as good as ever this year and plays at home. He trounced his rivals in this contest last year and is expected to be hard to beat here too. It will take a very fit and game (3) KISEKI to come on top of the selection.

There is a lot to like about (8) POST VAR who finished a game third on his first start in this division. He has only raced twice this year so is sure to come on from his last run. The consistent (12) CARLTON CHOICE has a good draw and should be able to run close to the pace. He is a serious candidate too. (11) SHERE CALM has a big chance if he is not bothered by the change of surface.

What an absolute belter of a renewal of this great Prix Vermeille. Most people would agree that the unluckiest filly of this or any other season just has to be (8) FLEETING. One could argue that she should have won both the English and Irish Oaks and also at Royal Ascot while the distance of the Beverly D was too short last time. She can mow down the rapidly improving and high class (9) STAR CATCHER. (4) PINK DOGWOOD and (7) ANAPURNA can come home next.

All eyes will be on (3) SOTTSASS for his return to competition after a summer on the sidelines. He has the assistance of a pacemaker and should be a tough nut to crack if he has made any progress since last spring. (2) QUEST THE MOON is likely to skip the Arc and will be at the top of his game for this race so could the surprise package.

This Group Three sprint will be run at an absolutely blistering pace so if you blink you will miss it. The overseas challengers have been taking all before them this season and this might be hard watching for the home supporters as well. Clive Cox really knows what it takes when he comes raiding and his (11) SHADES OF BLUE looks really primed today. Fellow raiders (12) POETRY and (6) STAKE ACCLAIM cann make it a clean sweep for the British with (4) GOLD VIBE best of the home brigade.

The remarkable rise and rise of (3) CITY LIGHT as a manufactured sprinter early last year was a joy to watch and he was oh so unlucky not to collect the big Group One Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot also last season. It has not exactly gone to plan since then but a confidence boosting win last time will leave him spot on for this. (6) MARIANAFOOT is versatile and ca take second. (10) MOMKIN and (4) LARCHMONT LAD are good types too.

Fitted with blinkers for the first time (7) LA RECONQUISTA also benefits from a three pounds allowance from promising apprentice Thomas Trullier and gets the vote in this last contest of the day. There was not much between (2) GOLD STEP and (3) YOUNG MAN at Vichy this summer and both go into the race with a live chance. (6) VOLYNKA is worth a good look in.
