This event looks set to be dominated by the penalised pair of Applaus and REIVERS LAD, with the preference going to the latter because he has been arguably more impressive in his wins at Kelso in recent weeks. Applaus was a C&D winner last month and the 6lb he gets from the selection will obviously help him. The rest do not inspire much confidence but Ollie G is of interest given his form prior to his lengthy layoff.
This can go the way of REIVERS LAD who hasn't been stretched in winning 2 novice hurdles at Kelso. Applaus improved last time and can chase him home, with Henpecked getting the nod for third.

RHYMERS STONE has won all three of his starts at this track and the most recent of those victories came only two starts ago. He was capable of winning from this mark over 2m here back in March 2014 and he clearly retains all of his ability. Fearless Tunes disappointed last time out but his form when twice second prior to that would give him a shout. The shortlist also includes Late Date and Vasco D'ycy.
FEARLESS TUNES was going the right way over hurdles before a chasing debut that was too bad to be true, so expect him to get back on track and go close in what looks like a competitive handicap hurdle for the grade. Most of the others have some sort of chance, but handicap debutant Log On and the lightly raced Late Date are the pick of them.

This race may be light on numbers but a competitive field go to post for this valuable heat. DUBAI ANGEL's consistency has to be admired and his two defeats over hurdles have come at the hands of some above-average rivals. A mark of 127 cannot be described as overly generous but more improvement may be forthcoming. Others to note are Bollin Ace, who has taken a big step forward recently, and Sharp Response.
Both DUBAI ANGEL and Sharp Response have to conclusively prove their stamina for this far, but are clearly the most interesting pair from a handicapping perspective, with Malcolm Jefferson's charge marginally preferred.

TITIAN BOY was disappointing when beaten at long odds on when last seen at Ayr just before Christmas but may not have appreciated the ground being as testing as it was so has the potential to improve for a sounder surface here. Roxyfet is a threat on his recent second at Sedgefield when going down by less than a length to Duhallowcountry, while Halcyon Days was no match for Nomoreblackjack at Catterick last time and is respected.
TITIAN BOY was held back by several notable errors when a costly loser bidding for a hat-trick at Ayr in December, but he remains a handicapper of potential at this sort of level, so is taken to regain the winning thread. Halcyon Days has been in good form for a while now and is likely to give it another good shot.

CATCHTHEMOONLIGHT brings the most consistent form to the table with the notable absence of Sky Full Of Stars, who would have been difficult to beat, and should be freshened up nicely after three months off. Hey Bob looks a danger having finished third at Catterick back in January, while Fiddler's Flight is entitled to bounce back after a poor run at Sedgefield last time.
The safest proposition here looks to be CATCHTHEMOONLIGHT who also brings some relatively recent winning form to the table. Vodka Red would be a player if picking up from where he left off when last seen a year ago, while money for the potentially well-handicapped Politbureau would be interesting.
