DARLING DU LARGE was third behind the talented Epatante at Exeter last month, and that run sets the form standard quite easily in this field. The six-year-old is going in the right direction and will be even better in the future when tackling further. See The Sea was rated 71 on the Flat last season and could do well in this sphere, while Summer Lightening could prove best of the rather modest remainder.

DARLING DU LARGE and Paper Promise look the pair to concentrate on. The former went the wrong way after a promising start in bumpers, but she set the record straight when backing up her hurdling debut effort at Exeter last month.

King Golan's winning run came to an end at Musselburgh 17 days ago and the assessor may have caught up with Kenny Johnson's charge now, while Newberry New shaped better when fourth over this course and distance 11 days ago. Preference, though, is for CRAIGANBOY, who goes well on soft ground and reverts to fences, where his mark is 7lb lower than his hurdles rating. Ueueteotl might want better ground than this and can be discarded for now.

VADO FORTE was deemed good enough to run in the Grade 3 Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham's November meeting last year, and could make the long journey worthwhile for shrewd handler Tom Lacey. The six-year-old isn't one to give up on yet and should appreciate the likely testing conditions. The Gipper won at a canter last time on heavy ground and looks poised to go well in his hat-trick bid, while Only Orsenfoolsies and Dali Mail add depth to a competitive contest.

It's likely DALI MAIL has more to offer and he's worth siding with to make a winning start in handicaps after a couple of promising runs in novices at Ayr. Call The Cops gained his first success since the Cheltenham Festival in 2015 when winning at Musselburgh last time and is respected along with Northern Girl, who won on her latest outing at Ayr.

This is a reasonable race for the grade, but it's still hard to look past the thriving TRAPPER PEAK in his quest to bring up the hat-trick upon joining Stef Keniry. Northern Girl and Call The Cops also won last time, but Arctic Road is feared most.

Graystown got the better of CASUAL CAVALIER by a length and a half at Ayr last time, but positions can be reversed here with the selection much better off on revised terms now Billy Garritty takes over in the saddle to remove 7lb. Rainy Day Dylan isn't the most reliable, but was hard to fault when second last time at Market Rasen, while the consistent course winner Mumgos Debut is respected just 2lb higher than his last win which came here in January.

Watch out for: Graystown (5)

GRAYSTOWN and Casual Cavalier filled the first 2 places at Ayr last time and could find themselves fighting this out too, with the former preferred given he remains with a lot of handicapping scope based on old form. Mumgos Debut also arrives in form but appears to be summed up by his mark.
