PERFECT WORDS shaped nicely in the Brocklesby at Doncaster last week and although he failed to justify favouritism at Folkestone on Thursday, he still performed with credit and he could get off the mark here. Mad Jazz disappointed having been very well supported at Redcar on her debut but she is evidently thought capable of better. Vanessa finished ahead of her on that occasion and she could pose the main danger to her stablemate.
Perfect Words sets a clear standard down in grade and will be hard to beat. Stable-companion Vanessa could be the one to chase him home.

ARGANIL won with a little bit in hand at Redcar on Monday and with Amy Ryan's 3lb claim negating half of his 6lb penalty, he has a decent chance to follow up today. Upper Lambourn has been in fine form on the fibresand at Southwell and he has possibilities if translating that form to turf. Go Go Green could be in the shake-up if resuming at the top of his game after a break, while the same can be said for Baldemar.
Arganil looks sure to go well in a bid to follow up his Redcar win at the start of the week but is taken on with Haajes who should be sharper for his comeback at Southwell last month. The booking of Fallon suggests Go On Green is also expected to go well on his return to action.

RASAMAN can go well fresh and the booking of Kieren Fallon suggests a bold bid is expected from Jim Goldie's eight-year-old. He is certainly attractively handicapped and his last three wins have come over this C&D. His stablemate, Rothesay Chancer, also has a decent record here and he could figure providing lack of a recent run is not an issue. Mayoman is not impossibly handicapped and he merits consideration on his first run for David O'Meara.
Rasaman has a fine record here and usually goes well fresh so looks to have plenty going for him with Fallon also a positive booking. Stablemate Rothesay Chancer did well last year and also makes the shortlist along with top weight Crimea.

HAWKS REEF showed plenty of promise on his two runs as a juvenile and there could be plenty of improvement to come from him now with another winter under his belt. He is narrowly preferred to President Lincoln, who has his first run for Declan Carroll having finished runner-up on no less than five occasions for Aidan O'Brien last year. Three Darlings made a pleasing debut at York in October last year and she is one to keep a close eye on as she makes her reappearance.
Hawks Reef is taken to beat Three Darlings, and condemn President Lincoln to yet another placed finish. The selection displayed a good attitude when finishing runner-up on his latest start, and it is hoped that extra experience will prove crucial here.

The lightly-raced SHUBAAT could be the one to side with here. He ran well on his only outing last season at Newbury over 1m4f but this trip will suit him better and it is unlikely that we have seen the best of him yet. Copper Canyon won impressively on the all-weather at Lingfield last month and he has to be respected despite a 7lb rise in the handicap, while Meetings Man was very consistent last year and could make the frame on his return.
Shubaat is unexposed as a stayer, and can reward connections' patience with a win on his return. Jeu de Vivre thrived last year, and still has scope to improve, so looks second best ahead of Red Jade.

Ostentation joined Alistair Lidderdale from Roger Teal after winning a 1m5f Lingfield claimer last time and he is nicely handicapped on his best form. Ad Value showed some respectable form in handicaps last term and it would be foolish to dismiss him on his reappearance.

It is hard to gauge exactly what ALKADI achieved when making a winning debut over 7f at Lingfield in February but she certainly created a favourable impression and an opening handicap mark of 71 could be well within her capabilities. Laffan recorded two handicap wins over 6f at Southwell in January and he can make his presence felt providing he is as effective on turf as he is on fibresand. Rano Pano is also worth a second glance.

Paul Midgley saddled the winner of this race 12 months ago and has strong claims today, this time with SPIRIT OF CONISTON. The C&D winner is fit from the all-weather and returns to turf on a very attractive mark, 2lb lower than his highest successful rating. He scored in this month last year and can do so again, although there are no shortage of dangers. Soopacal is well treated in relation to his all-weather rating and Here Now And Why was a C&D winner when last seen on turf, but the main threat may be Sandwith, a course specialist who has been in good heart on Fibresand this year.
Soopacal has been picking up plenty of place money on the AW over the winter, and could cash in on a career-low mark if a first-time tongue tie works the oracle. However, 4-time C&D winner Sandwith is in good fettle and rates a massive threat, with Triskaidekaphobia also weighted to be involved.
