MR MO JO has found life tough since opening his account over this C&D in April but he's slipped back to just a 2lb higher mark than for that win. His overall profile doesn't instil masses of confidence but the return to this track will help. Irish Boy finished a place ahead of the selection when second at Pontefract in July but has been comfortably held at York since and reopposes on 4lb worse terms. Dotty Darroch could give the selection most to think about.
The reliable Irish Boy is sure to go well if fully tuned after a break, but a chance is taken on Ballarina, who is better than recent efforts and has a great draw for a front runner. Dotty Darroch is another to consider on balance of form.

Wicked Wilma has improved out of recognition this term and should lay down another strong challenge despite having a career-high handicap mark to defy, but preference is for BOSUN BREESE. He hasn't won for 12 months but has held his form quite well in defeat this term and looks weighted to strike. Recent Beverley scorer Ingleby Star and Richard Guest's Dancing Freddy are others to consider seriously in a tightly-knit contest.
A high draw is likely to be an advantage here on recent evidence. Ingleby Star and Hypnosis are well berthed for prominent racers, with the former taken to get first run. Rothesay Chancer can't be dismissed, either.

GLENLUJI was proving a little frustrating to follow in June and July but he certainly showed that he's back to somewhere near his peak with five solid efforts in defeat. Jim Goldie's charge is rated 5lb higher than for his last success but arrives fresh from a break and has conditions to suit here. Emeralds Spirit is another in good shape and likely to be on the scene when it matters, while Military Call is not the easiest to predict but is weighted to figure closely if on a going day.
None of these is rock solid, but Drive Home remains open to improvement, and can bounce back from a tame effort. Emeralds Spirit is more consistent than most and has place claims, while bottom-weight Classic Descent hinted at a revival last time.

The consistent Music Festival and in-form Sabratha have to be respected accordingly, but the vote goes to IMPERATOR AUGUSTUS, who provided Patrick Holmes with a first training success at Carlisle at the start of last month. The gelding seemed to win with a bit to spare that day and is fancied to overcome an 8lb hike in the ratings. I'm Super Too and Swiftly Done are other obvious players.
Thinking gave the impression that he had even more to give when winning at Thirsk last time, and he can make it win number 4 of the season. Swiftly Done and I'm Super Too also come here on the crest of a wave, and are respected.
