Liva has to be respected following his victory over C&D last month but a 6lb penalty for that success means that he is vulnerable. With that in mind, the preference is for HANNON, who chased home a useful rival on his racecourse debut in late August and he makes his debut today for a yard who have a 38 per cent strike-rate over hurdles in this country in the last five years. Al Kherb is the pick of the remainder.
AL KHERB made a decent start to his hurdle career behind Finale runner-up Adjali at Market Rasen last month and is taken to make the most of the 6 lb he receives from previous hurdle winner Liva. Irish-raider Hannon was runner-up on his debut at the end of the summer and is also respected for a stable which enjoys plenty of success with its runners over here.

KNOCK HOUSE clearly benefitted from a wind operation judging by his 10-length victory at Bangor last month and he makes plenty of appeal once again, despite a 9lb hike in the ratings. Jet Master is another who arrives here in good form and he could pose the biggest threat to the selection, ahead of Dans Le Vent and Uptown Funk.
KNOCK HOUSE benefited from a wind operation when cashing in on a reduced mark in style at Bangor 3 weeks ago, and his revised mark should be well within his compass. Dans Le Vent finished fourth in a better race than this last time and is the obvious threat.

KNOCKGRAFFON won this contest 12 months ago off a 2lb higher mark and he merits the utmost respect having had a wind op over the summer. Upsilon Bleu filled second place behind the selection in this race a year ago and he should go well once again, while the consistent Forth Bridge edges out Mixboy to be the best of the rest.

CHICA BUENA is 4-7 over hurdles, including a success over C&D two starts back off 20lb lower. The eye is immediately drawn to KAJAKI's unexposed profile, being a useful performer on the Flat and 2-2 since switching to hurdles. Impressive on his hurdling bow at Sedgefield, he confirmed that promise when beating a bumper/hurdles winner under a penalty at Wetherby and an opening mark of 118 looks a lenient one. Nendrum and Iconic Belle are expected to put up most resistance.
It looked a decent novice event in which KAJAKI made it 2-2 over hurdles at Wetherby, and he is taken to maintain his unbeaten record in this sphere off what could turn out to be a very fair opening mark. Nendrum was going great guns when departing at the second-last over C&D last month and is the clear main danger ahead of Iconic Belle, who probably has more to offer as a hurdler.

BORN FOR WAR improved for the fitting of a visor when scoring here over an extended 2m4f in November and that first career success may have given him the impetus to go on. He is unexposed over the distance and is preferred ahead of Always Lion, who won on his chase bow at Market Rasen in May 2017 but has been off the track since. The market should tell us more on his return, while Elmono and Just Minded are consistent performers to note.
BORN FOR WAR boasts a positive profile and appeals as the type to do better still so receives the vote. Always Lion presumably isn’t the easiest to train but remains unexposed for his new yard and is feared most.
