Stepping back to 6f, Western Tactics may be happier after struggling over a route, while Master Woo is another back in sprints after failing to show the same level of form over further last time. However, should SECZONE manage to repeat his effort when a narrow second here last time he could be the answer, particularly as his trainer has an excellent record with class droppers.
Big Out had Tactical De Naskra and Monet behind when successful over track and trip, and may be able to confirm the placings despite a wide post position. Unreal General has been consistent this term but is proving difficult to win with, so the class-dropping DAVY JONES gets the vote. Willard Thompson's gelding did not show a great deal in valuable allowance company last time, but could be a real threat back in this grade.
BEAUTIFUL EAST may not have won this term, but the nature of his second place when Awanda and Minor's Gold were well adrift, suggests that her first win of the year is on the horizon. Passion's Destiny was a convincing winner last time and is worthy of respect, while Red Bier has claims if on song, but is not the most consistent.
In A Zone had Jury behind at the beginning of last month but ran no sort of race last time, while P J Sully has been in sparkling form of late but isn't well drawn. CATECHOL was also behind In The Zone last time, but that was his first run after a short break and he is likely to strip fitter here.
If Beknown To Me could find his September form he could go well, but the nine-year-old veteran may just be feeling the effects of a hard season. Clever Louis returns from a break and may improve now back on the dirt, but GIDEON has been a consistent performer in this level and could get back to winning ways today.
Jersey A.J. didn't appear to get home over a route last time, while Tough To Be Humble has never raced at a route trip and may find this saps his stamina. NIKOLAY didn't give his best running last time, but ran well over this trip prior to that and is the tentative vote in this trappy heat.
My Husband struggled over a route last time and will be happier over what looks his optimum trip, while Mug Of Love is another who seems to relish this distance but needs to step up in this company. This could turn out to be between stablemates Monsterinmyroom and SECOND COLLECTION. The former won well in allowance company, but may struggle to peg back the selection, who was far from disgraced in a valuable stakes race at Monmouth last time.
Kevin Sleeter's duo Pickin Laurel and Summer Sting have to be high on the short-list based on recent efforts, but preference is for TOTALLY PRECIOUS. James Connor's mare had Summer Sting behind when grabbing a big purse at Monmouth and put in a very fast 4f workout at Delaware recently. Jenny Bean Girl won on a sloppy track last time but has something to find with the principals here.
Dixie Baghdad has only raced three times this year, and may have needed the run last time, while Kirkwood Ranger has shaped with promise but has yet to fulfil his potential. EXECUTION showed enough on his last start on the lawn here to suggest that a race of this nature is within his compass.
