Irish import Five Out Of Five has shown ability in two runs in bumpers and is expected to make a bold showing first time over hurdles. It has taken Mtoto's Prince a while to get the hang of things but he was a close fourth over 2m at Wincanton when last seen in May and might not have too much to find to land a race like this. Great Reason was second over 2m 1f at Huntingdon on his hurdling debut and looks a leading player here but it could be worth taking a chance on RUSHWEE, who was well held in third over 2m 1f at Aintree on his hurdling bow but drops in class today.
Plenty can be dismissed out of hand, and this looks a good opportunity for Great Reason to open his account. Rushwee is easily next best, with Five Out of Five of some interest on his hurdles bow.

No Wonga has put in three good efforts over timber but was a well-held second last time in a similar contest over 2m at Uttoxeter and needs to improve on that effort. Brandy Butter's latest modest effort over timber came in a better contest than this and he must be given a chance back in this grade but preference is for TESSERAE. She was well beaten into third over 2m at Plumpton last month on just her second start over timber, having scored in a similar contest to this here on her debut. If she handles the step up in trip, she could take all the beating.
No Wonga wasn't stopping at the end of 2m on Saturday, and this sterner test of stamina should help as he bids to go one better. Tabaran wasn't far behind then and should again be thereabouts, while Tesserae is another to consider upped in trip.

Jordan's Light is well treated on his winning C&D hurdle form but needs to improve on his efforts to date over the bigger obstacles. Reland is a useful hurdler who can be given a chance first time over fences, while Tempting Paradise has scored over fences but is 6lb worse off now and may find this trip on the sharp side. TURBO SHANDY is an experienced chaser who scored over fences at Cartmel last summer. He wasn't far away when third over 2m at Lingfield this month and looks up to landing the spoils dropped in grade and the handicap here.
Easy to have reservations about the majority of these and a clear round of jumping could see the handily-weighted Reland emerge victorious on his chasing debut. Tempting Paradise and Jordan's Light will be waiting in the wings if he doesn't come up to scratch.

Nortonthorpe Lad won this last year off a 1lb lower mark now but needs to improve on some disappointing efforts recently. Since winning over 2m at Kempton last month Novikov has put in three good efforts but is rising in the weights now. Know The Law, after landing a double at Huntingdon last spring, has run into similar problems and is passed over in favour of WEST WITH THE WIND, who spent most of last summer on the flat but returned to the winter game with a close second on his chasing bow over C&D in a novice event in December. He's well treated on his best hurdling form and still looks open to further improvement.
Likely to be no hanging about here with a few front runners in the line-up and that should suit a hold-up performer. Ex-German Ostland revealed more like his true ability on his second British start last month and could be worth chancing. Marchand d'Argent and Know The Law also make the shortlist.

Since landing a double at the end of last year, Carrickmines has been placed four times but might be in the grip of the handicapper, while Noble Future was second over 2m 6f at Hereford but well held and may need more help from the handicapper. It may be worth taking a chance on DUNE RAIDER, who scored off a 1lb lower mark over 3m 1f at Market Rasen last August. Irish import Emotional Article also has winning form at home and is another with serious claims but it should be worth siding with CEDRUS LIBANI, who lost his way at the end of last season but has recorded a couple of confidence-boosting successes between the flags this campaign. A prolific scorer over hurdles and fences in the past, he tackles this sort of company for the first time and may not need to be back to his very best to score here.
With the irresolute Predateur one to steer clear of, this should rest between Emotional Article and Cedrus Libani. The latter is the call with a top amateur booked, in the hope his jumping holds up.

Plenty in with chances here but preference is for CANNINGTON BROOK, unbeaten in two starts in point-to-points and highly tried over fences on his first two outings under Rules. His jumping wasn't always spot on when switched to the smaller obstacles over 3m at Towcester last month but, despite a couple of errors, he finished a game second. If he can improve his hurdling technique, he could take all the beating. Present To You looks a progressive sort but was a well-held second at Ffos Las last time and has more to find. Call Me Mulligan is another unexposed hurdler going the right way while Irish point-to-point winner Ardkilly Rebel is in with a chance on his UK debut.
Potentially an informative race. Interestingly, hurdling newcomer Ardkilly Rebel is entered at the Cheltenham Festival, and he could easily go well, but Cannington Brook and Present To You set a good standard and can come home in that order.
