This could provide the ideal opportunity for FOUR STRONG WINDS to break his duck over timber at just the fourth attempt. He's improved with every outing and his second over 2m 1f at Cheltenham last month came in a tougher contest than this. Down in grade, he should take all the beating. The biggest threat could be posed by Premier Sagas, a game winner of a similar contest over this trip at Market Rasen last time and another on an upward curve. Larks lad won over 2m 4f at Taunton two starts ago and has strong claims on that effort, while Azulada Bay has put in two good efforts over hurdles and is another to consider.
Plenty of the field are open to improvement, but Four Strong Winds boasts easily the best form, and so is taken to get off the mark. Premier Sagas and Quite The Man head the list of dangers.

Hidden Keel landed a Southwell bumper last spring and ran well on his hurdling debut at Towcester last month but needs to improve on his subsequent modest effort at Ludlow. Gilbarry scored in a Kelso bumper on his debut and is making progress over timber but needs to find further improvement and is passed over here in favour of SCAMPI BOY, modest in two runs in NH flats races and making his hurdling bow here. The six-year-old hasn't been rushed but connections shelled out 70,000 pounds for the gelding, whose pedigree suggest he has a good future in the jumping game, and he can start repaying that outlay here.
Bumper winners Gilbarry and Hidden Keel boast the best form over timber without yet revealing their full potential. The former is given the nod, with Laureldean River another open to improvement and possibly up to reaching a place.

Ballydub turned in his best effort to date over fences when a close second over this trip at Ludlow this month and his first win can't be far away. Special Envoy is also making progress and has been placed in his last two races, although he was well held on both occasions and still has something to find. It might be worth taking a chance on TWINCAMDRIFT, who is making his chasing bow and his first start in 11 months. Second in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Haydock a year ago, his chasing debut has been long awaited and he's sure to be primed for a bold effort effort.
With Special Envoy and Ballydub looking unlikely to get near the level over fences that they reached over hurdles, it may be worth siding with Emperor Concerto now back at a more realistic level. Thetwincamdrift also makes some appeal on his chase bow.

Plenty in with chances here but it could pay to take a chance on the unexposed AL QEDDAAF. He only got as far as the first hurdle on his NH debut at Market Rasen before unshipping his rider but turned in a game effort next time at Bangor to finish second to Bothy, who franked the form with a follow-up win at Taunton last month. With further improvement expected, Donald McCain's charge can break his duck now. It has taken Orsippus a while to get the hang of the hurdling game but he scored comfortably at Musselburgh this month and must have a good chance of following up. Park Lane and Ascendant are others to consider.
Park Lane is an obvious contender for the all conquering Nicky Henderson stable following his encouraging start over hurdles, but Al Qeddaaf was no less promising when completing at Bangor in December and could represent better value. Orsippus enhanced his upwardly mobile profile in a handicap last time and shouldn't be underestimated.

This might be the ideal opportunity for former SunAlliance and Hennessy Gold Cup scorer TRABOLGAN to resume winning ways. He failed to reappear for three years following his latter success and hasn't set the world alight in three runs since his return but is improving, finishing fourth in a Listed race at Cheltenham in December. This looks his easiest task for several years and he can prove too good for these rivals. Mister McGoldrick seems to have found a new lease of life this year and can't be ruled out even at the ripe old age of 13, while the 'youngster' Chief Dan George is struggling at present but would have sound claims on his best form.

Prince Du Beury has been just pipped in his last two starts but won't find it any easier today with another 7lb. Ifandbutwhy has won two of his last three starts but is not the safest of jumpers and may be anchored by an extra 12lb. Motarid was second off this mark over 2m 1f here last time out but that was 13 months ago and he was well held then. Even though he is 6lb higher than when winning at Southwell, preference is for SIMPLE JIM who was just beaten into second off today's rating over 2m 4f at Musselburgh this month. He met traffic problems that day and can go one better now with a clear run.

This should go the way of the Irish import, BREAKING SILENCE, who landed a hat-trick in tougher contests a couple of years ago. He may have been in need of the run when third over 3m at Huntingdon on his UK debut but with that outing under his belt he looks up to landing this. Va Vavoom was highly-tried in his younger days but hadn't seen a racecourse for nearly three years when second in the selection's Huntingdon race and is an obvious danger. Ossmoses, who drops to this grade for the first time, won a Grade 3 chase four years ago but hasn't run for 22 months.
Breaking Silence may well reverse recent placings with Va Vavoom, but both have stamina doubts up in trip, so it may be worth chancing the classy Ossmoses on his belated return.

It is hard to look beyond SEISMIC WAVE, second over 2m at Wincanton this month on his debut. His attempt to make all was only thwarted close home but he showed good resolution to battle on when passed and should be able to go one better today. Sambelucky is a progressive sort who wasn't far away in third over 2m at Catterick on his second start and he could be the one for the forecast, while newcomer No Substitute could run a big race.
Seismic Wave shaped as though an ordinary bumper was well within his reach at Wincanton on his debut and should be tough to beat. Lion On The Prowl and Sambelucky could provide the sternest opposition, though significant support for any of the newcomers would be worth noting.
