ASCENDING LARK is unbeaten in four starts since joining Harry Derham and the seven-year-old has been found another excellent opportunity to continue her winning run. Her victories this season at Newcastle and Exeter have been in handicap company and another 4lb rise doesn't appear to be insurmountable. Plantaroma was unlucky at Huntingdon on her first run after a wind operation and looks more of a threat than Not Now Nathaniel.
A tight contest but Ascending Lark can continue her unbeaten record over hurdles. The form of her latest win has been advertised since and Plantaroma, unlucky in defeat last time, should ensure a solid gallop. Not Now Nathaniel has been freshened up after a poor run and isn't dismissed back on good ground.

MARCHE D'ALIGRE sets the standard based on his second in the Finale at Chepstow and the four-year-old, who was subsequently disappointing at Haydock, is more than capable of returning to winning ways. Rascallion filled the runner-up spot over C&D in November and would have to enter calculations on his first appearance for Henrietta Knight, while a first-time tongue-tie might aid the cause of Sun Art.
Marche D'Aligre sets a clear standard on his runner up effort at Graded level and will be tough to beat in this class. He got racing too early last time but with little other competition up front here will likely go a sensible gallop. Sun Art was poorly placed at a sharp venue last time but could threaten if ridden more positively. Rascallion was beaten when falling last time but chased home a very useful rival on debut who has franked that form in a hot handicap. He can make his presence felt without troubling the selection.

ROCK HOUSE had been running with credit this season over hurdles before finding the Morebattle at Kelso a step too far. The combination of a switch to fences and a drop in class may well help Dan Skelton's gelding in what appears to be a winnable contest on paper. Idy Wood should be a lot happier back on a sounder surface after his latest effort at Chepstow. Ostrava Du Berlais completes the shortlist.
Little separates the 4 runners on the ratings but this is the weakest contest Rock House will have contested for some time and he could take advantage of a lenient mark on chase debut. Ostrava Du Berlais has been running back into form of late and rates a danger stepped back up in distance. River Robe isn't discounted either back down in trip having kicked on too soon last time over further when travelling best.

The latter commands respect on the drop down from Listed company, but Nicky Henderson's top-weight may be better suited to this trip and it's feasible that he could have too much toe for his likely main rival. Jazz King, who is a probable pace angle, had been in good form prior to pulling up on his latest start and should not be underestimated with ground conditions ideal.
Kado De Joie was given far too much to do and finished with running left when failing in his hat trick bid when last seen but can make amends with James Bowen back on board on quicker ground. The versatile DEMOISELLE KAP hasn't looked back since joining Jennie Candlish and is hard to ignore on the back of four consecutive successes over both hurdles and fences. Reverting to the larger obstacles shouldn't really be much of an issue, with her current rating of 119 fair given her resurgent form. The winner of a similar race over 3m here on his penultimate start, FRERE D'ARMES looks the most obvious starting point given his course experience and proven ability to be effective back over this sort of trip. Last year's winner Captain Tommy is respected in his bid for a repeat after a hard-fought victory over 3m1f at Catterick. Prolific point-to-pointer Walkin Out and The Creadan Rogue also add depth to a decent contest.
Frere D'Armes has been in fine form since snapping a losing run last year and was just outstayed late over 3m last time. He can continue his good course record dropped to him optimum distance and the main expense of Captain Tommy who clung on to win over 3m himself last time. Walkin Out has enjoyed a productive spell in points over the last year and any market support would be notable on her rules return.
