BACK IN FOCUS remains very much unexposed after just three career starts under Rules and, despite having failed to justify favouritism on his reappearance at Tipperary, he notched in Grade 2 company on his debut at Haydock in February last year and might have just needed that first run for 471 days. Over the larger obstacles for the first time, he is expected to know his task but White Star Line cannot be dismissed with a repeat of his Cheltenham Festival second behind Hunt Ball in Listed company expected to see him go close. Double Seven makes most appeal of the remainder.

PRINCETON PLAINS is taken to follow up his gritty success in this event 12 months ago. Looking at the formbook, a sixth place finish in the Galway hurdle last month is sandwiched by solid win and placed efforts on the Flat and McCoy has seemingly choose to ride him today over the other McManus runners, Louisville Lip and Thomas Edison. The last mentioned remains the only horse to beat last season's Champion Bumper winner Champagne Fever but the transaction to hurdles hasn't gone as smoothly as connections would have liked, so his stablemate and January Fairyhouse scorer Osirixamix rates the bigger threat.

Bundle Of Fun makes his first hurdles start since winning this contest last year and warrants plenty of respect despite being 8lb higher in the weights, while in-form players Caim Hill, Uponthe Hoof and Highdownhill must all be given chances. The vote, however, goes to handicap debutant STAR NEUVILLE. The six-year-old did nothing but improve in four starts over timber last term and a spin on the Flat at Killarney earlier this month will have blown any cobwebs away. An opening mark of 127 today looks fairly lenient.

Disappointing that only two take their chance despite decent prize money on offer but we aren't lacking for quality. Vintage Supreme stepped up on his two efforts earlier in the year when winning a Cork bumper last month and there are certainly more races to be won with him, but it's difficult to look past ANNIE POWER in receipt of 8lb. The daughter of Shirocco hasn't put a foot wrong in both visits to the racecourse thus far and has been bought into the Willie Mullins stable (from Jim Bolger's) by top owner Richard Ricci since her emphatic Wexford success 27 days ago, undoubtedly for a hefty fee.
