This should primarily concern the top three on the card and BLADOUN may be able to fend them all off from the front. He was closing in on victory before falling at the last on his hurdling debut at Chepstow and showed no ill-effects when fourth over 2m4f at Taunton late last month. He's getting the hang of things and will be suited by this small field. Dawn Twister moves back up in trip and must be respected on the form of his Fontwell defeat of American Life, who has since run below that level when fifth of six at Uttoxeter.

Dawn Twister is likely to do better still in this sphere and can belatedly follow up his Fontwell success. Fairly useful stayer Samarkand is interesting starting out jumping for Neil King and may prove the biggest danger.

It's not hard to envisage another victory for DELGANY GUNNER. He arguably produced a career-best effort when scoring at Leicester earlier in the month and a 6lb rise may not be enough to scupper the follow-up plans this afternoon. Spear Thistle is a danger to all on the pick of his hurdles form but he's not really shining at present and his fencing leaves a bit to be desired. Newton Tonic was disappointing at Haydock at the end of October but the subsequent break may have helped freshen him up.

Watch out for: Spear Thistle (1)

Time To Think was in good form when last seen in the spring and he could be the answer. He went well fresh last season and is taken to get the better of recent Leicester winner Delgany Gunner and Newton Tonic.

General Ting is the obvious starting point bidding for a hat-trick of recent wins but he might struggle to beat TANERKO EMERY, who represents the red hot David Pipe. The progressive gelding defied a 5lb rise for finishing second at Cheltenham when going one better at Sandown last week and although up another 7lb, he has conditions to suit again and this race doesn't look much tougher. The shortlisted is completed by Fontwell second Ya Hafed.

He comfortably accounted for subsequent scorer Poungach when winning the Grade 2 Rising Stars Novices' Chase at Wincanton last month and backed that up with a creditable fourth to the very well-regarded Harry Topper in the same class at Newbury. He looks a strong stayer in the making and will relish the underfoot conditions. Court In Motion is the main danger receiving so much weight, ahead of Ascot winner Minella Class.

LAMPS looked one to keep on the right side of when routing a decent field at Sandown recently and although competing off a 13lb higher mark this afternoon, he makes plenty of appeal again. Westlin' Winds has been going well recently but faces a tougher task here while El Dancer is very talented on his day and should be able to make his presence if putting his best foot forward.

Leg Iron has a layoff to overcome but remains lightly raced and could still have more to offer.
