Lagostovegas only found subsequent winner Charlie Stout too good at Naas and she should go close off 4lb higher, but preference is for handicap debutant CANELIE. Gordon Elliott's mare has shaped with plenty of promise in maiden starts both at Galway and Cork (not disgraced in novice company at Gowran in between) and an opening mark of 121 might be underestimating her ability. Willie Mullins has saddled the last couple of winners of this contest and he looks to have a strong hand with BAPAUME and Meri Devie this time around. The latter had Housesofparliament (second) and Sword Fighter (fifth) behind when scoring readily on her hurdling debut over this C&D and she should go close again, but it might pay to side with Ruby Walsh' mount. His Grade 2 victory over Landofhopeandglory and the reopposing Mega Fortune here on St Stephen's Day arguably represents the strongest Irish juvenile form so far this season and, worrying for his rivals, he is likely to take another step forward. Runaway Cork scorer Dinaria Des Obeaux adds further spice to the race.

Another race in which Willie Mullins has made his own in recent years - winning the last four renewals - and, saddling six of the 10 declared runners this time around, there is a fair chance that the prize will go back to Closutton again. Bacardys was one of the best bumper horses around last season and did well to win his maiden hurdle here over christmas considering he twisted a shoe during the race, while Bunk Off Early and Chateau Conti made favourable impressions when winning first time out in this sphere and both are respected. However, SATURNAS is the clear standard-setter having built on his Royal Bond second to win the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle over 2m here and it comes as no surprise to see Ruby Walsh pick him over some talented stablemates. Brelade chased home the favourite last time and should give another good account, while runaway Fairyhouse scorer Barra might outrun her forecast double-figure odds.

Willie Mullins has landed this race six times in the last nine years and looks to hold outstanding claims once more with BELLSHILL. Current antepost favourite for the RSA Chase, the seven-year-old has made a perfect start to his chasing career, making it two from two over Christmas in effortless fashion. His hurdles form is much the best of this field and he can get the better of Our Duke, who was mightily impressive at this venue in December, winning a Grade 1 against a strong field containing the likes of Coney Island and the reopposing Disko. The latter should be thereabouts once more, but the likes of A Toi Phil and Bleu Et Rouge have a bit to find with the market principals.

Carlingford Lough has landed this prize the last two years and showed that he still retains his enthusiasm for the game with success in the Bibby Gold Cup at Punchestown last season. He is the choice of Barry Geraghty over Jonjo O' Neill's More Of That and, more interestingly, Minella Rocco. The latter won the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham 11 months ago, beating the likes of Native River, Vicente and Vieux Lion Rouge in the process. Gigginstown last landed this prize in 2014 but that record could end with their representatives Road To Riches, Empire Of Dirt and DON POLI. The latter returned to form when second in the Lexus over Christmas and this represents a nice opportunity for the eight-year-old. This looks likely to be a slog and he might just have too much staying power for the likes of Sizing John and Zabana, who could be outstayed down the home straight.

A welcome return to action for Hunter Chase legend On The Fringe, though he often needs his first outing and could struggle to get the better of the race-fit FOXROCK.
