STEADY ROLLING returned from a lay-off with a really pleasing fourth at Tramore last month and she could be up to getting off the mark here if building on that performance. Punchestown bumper scorer Auspicious Outlook has to enter the reckoning on her first public outing over obstacles, while Cailin Oran also has a NH Flat win to her name and should make her mark in this sphere before long. Queen Of Cool showed a lot more last time and is another for the shortlist.
Plenty of runners, but most seem exposed as no better than modest in this sphere and the well-bred Auspicious Outlook should be up to making a winning debut over hurdles given her bumper form. Queen of Cool and Steady Rolling appeal as her main dangers.

Only a tentative vote goes to TAKING STOCK. John Kiely's charge has shaped with real potential in a number of similar events since winning a Punchestown bumper on debut last February, not least when third to Benash at Fairyhouse last month. Gormanstown Cuckoo was second to Benash at Navan in December and confirmed his ability when third at Leopardstown in January. He takes to timber for the first time here and heads the list of dangers, along with Waterloo Chateau and Celtic Wish.
A maximum field here but plenty of them seem to be just making up the numbers. Taking Stock has shown enough to think he's capable of winning an ordinary maiden such as this and he gets the nod over Waterloo Chateau and Ross Na Righ.
WALTZING TORNADO is more exposed than most of these rivals but his recent fifth to Castle Anshan in a Tipperary handicap hurdle reads well and the return to maiden company could yield a deserved success. Gift Of Dgab ran a race full of promise when fourth to Benash on his racecourse bow at Fairyhouse last month and must rank highly among the dangers. Face The Music and Bruach Na Mara are others to consider closely.
Gift of Dgab made a most encouraging start at Fairyhouse and seems sure to build on that effort, especially as the longer trip is in his favour, so he rates as a fairly confident selection. Face The Music, Bruach Na Mara and Waltzing Tornado are the 3 obvious contenders to fight it out for the remaining places.

SWEEPS HILL sets a red-hot standard on his latest third to Blackstairmountain in a Grade 1 contest at Punchestown and a clear round should suffice this evening. Drussell is next best on official figures but has looked badly out of sorts in his last couple of starts and is rated 21lb inferior to the selection. Alpine Glade wasn't beaten far when third in a Grade 3 at Punchestown and looks the main threat.
Sweeps Hill has been plying his trade at Grade 1 level since notching up a quickfire double over hurdles before the turn of the year, so should have too many guns for Alpine Glade despite having to concede 11 lb to that rival. The remainder look out of their depth to varying degrees, Drussel probably the best of the bunch.

Dessie Hughes' charge has yet to run a bad race in his short career to date and a repeat of his latest third to Arvika Ligeonniere should make him hard to beat. Page One Two Nine has shown more than enough to be of interest in a race of this nature, while Ordinary Man and Gowran fourth Ballinahow Lady also remain open to plenty of improvement over hurdles.
A couple who seem sure to benefit from this trip are Dooney Rock and Ordinary Man. Not much strong form to work with but SOCIETY SHARES made a really encouraging start to life under NH rules when sixth in a valuable bumper at the Punchestown Festival and normal improvement could make him tough to beat this evening. Rohans Bay was fifth in another NH Flat event at Punchestown last month and should have more to offer as he gains experience, while Sirius Bay and Noel Browne are not easily dismissed either.
Rohans Bay and Society Shares bring the best form to the table in this bumper, having both acquitted themselves with credit at the Punchestown Festival last time, and the former just gets the nod. A couple of newcomers who represent powerful connections and are worth a look in the market are Sorted and Willie John.
