It's worth giving another chance to SCARLET ROCKS, second in her four starts to date. She has shown some improvement each time and, after going down by a head over 5f at Leicester last month, could be able to go one better this time. Master Macho was well beaten at Yarmouth last time but can be given a chance on his previous efforts. King Of Cassis ran well for a long way on his debut at Bath this month before weakening and could get a lot closer this time.
Given the nature of the track, it usually pays to go with those with previous experience. Scarlet Rocks is narrowly preferred to Master Macho.

A tricky contest but C&D winners are always worth following at this track, so MY FLAME gets the vote here. His win came more than a year ago and he hasn't shown too much since but has given signs of returning to form recently and his local knowledge could give him the edge. Lady Lam landed a Kempton handicap back in March but has put in two modest efforts since, while Bahama Baileys has some decent form in better races but finds it hard to get his head in front.
Lady Lam is less exposed than most and can get back to winning ways in a desperate race with Richard Hughes taking over in the saddle. C&D winner My Flame is of some interest on his return to action, while Gold Rock is another to consider tried in a visor.

This looks a good opportunity for BRANNAGH to break his duck. He's running better than his form figures would suggest and his sole turf effort - in a competitive contest at Newmarket last October - suggests he's the one to beat, back on turf. Jay's Treaty was a well-held third at Goodwood last week but the fact that Mark Johnston has sent the colt to the South Coast again from North Yorkshire suggest plenty of confidence behind his runner. Yashrid looks progressive and could be thereabouts.
Brannagh is the pick on his 2-y-o form, but couldn't match it on his reappearance and Jay's Treaty may well find the necessary improvement anyway.

Chalice Welcome is on a hat-trick but is up 5lb for a neck success at Kempton and looks best on the all-weather. Eton Fable scored over C&D last August but hasn't been out for nine months and is up 9lb while Perpetually won his first two starts but needs to improve on three efforts this year. It may be worth taking a chance on on RESPLENDENT LIGHT. He hasn't won for two years but ended last season with two good efforts in this grade, form that looks the best on offer here.
Resplendent Light will surely go close if tuned up for his reappearance but it's probably worth keeping the faith with Perpetually, who hails from a yard with an excellent strike rate at this track in recent seasons and will be suited by the step up in trip.

Blue Tango has been beaten a head and a short-head respectively here in his last two starts but has another 4lb to carry now, while Freedom Fire is a consistent sort but his only win in 14 runs has come on the all-weather. GOOSE GREEN hasn't won since his C&D success last July but was just beaten into third in a blanket finish over track and trip last month and looks the one to be on off today's handicap mark.
Blue Tango and What's Up Doc both hold good claims but it's possible they will take each other on for the lead. If they do, they could tee the race up for Goose Green, who came back to form when just behind the former over C&D last time.

This can go to CHEVIOT, who disappointed at Wolverhampton on his seasonal reappearance but put in a string of fine efforts last summer, including a close third in a higher grade at Salisbury. He can land this back on turf. Ocean Countess scored over C&D last month but will find this tougher, up 4lb and in class, while Southandwest is entitled to improve for his third at Wolverhampton last month after a four-month lay-off and handles turf equally as well as the all-weather.
There are question marks against quite a few, but it may be worth taking a chance that Mujood, who is back on his last winning mark, proves a different horse with his reappearance behind him, the reapplication of headgear likely to help. Ocean Countess' record here means she commands plenty of respect even from 4 lb out of the weights, while C&D winner My Gacho is another to bear in mind.

MY KINGDOM is 3lb higher than his best winning mark but both his victories have come here - one over this trip - and his good second at Goodwood this month off today's handicap mark suggests he should be the one to beat here. Poppanan escapes a penalty after winning a Windsor apprentice race this month but is up in class here, while Peter Island is a C&D winner and scored at Kempton two starts ago but was held off this handicap mark when third here last month.
The majority come into this in good heart, but Poppanan will be hard to beat if in the same form as when scoring off this mark at Windsor last week. My Kingdom and Peter Island both boast winning form over C&D and are a couple of others who should go well.
