NA CAITH TOBAC ran very well on the Flat when second at Cork recently and this looks a good chance for him to get off the mark over hurdles. He needs to jump a little better than when third at Down Royal but his trainer has always viewed him as a good prospect in this sphere. Buzz Light was runner-up to a stable companion of the selection at Limerick and can get involved again. Mr Tambourine Man and Hurricane Alex both ran well 16 days ago at Kilbeggan and can contend for minor honours, while Pat Flynn's nicely-bred Outlier is a newcomer to keep an eye on.

DESIR DU LARGE was out of action for more than two years after winning a bumper at Fairyhouse but has returned with a couple of encouraging hurdles runs in Graded company. He was behind subsequent Grade 1 winners Echoes In Rain and Belfast Banter when third at Naas and although his run last time wasn't as good, it still reads well in the context of maiden company. Useful Flat handicapper Irish Poseidon was a promising fourth on his hurdling debut at Christmas and is a contender, along with Downpatrick bumper winner Off Your Rocco. L'impertinent was placed in a hot maiden at Cork and gets a handy 8lb from the main protagonists.

The trip is short of her best but MY SISTER SARAH is still the one to beat dropping in grade. The four-time hurdle winner, who has won over as far as 3m, has run respectably in Grade 1s at Cheltenham and Punchestown since having wind surgery earlier in the spring. Stablemate Getaway Gorgeous has been below-par of late but had some good form over this sort of trip in the autumn and is respected. Smart chaser Western Victory has a good chance at the weights but lacks worthwhile recent hurdles form, and Rescue Package may be a bigger threat having taken the scalp of Belfast Banter last November.

JESSE EVANS was well fancied for his handicap debut in a highly competitive heat at Punchestown and excelled himself in finishing a close third to Jazzaway. Raised 4lb as a result, he should have learned plenty from the experience and can go two places better here. Conor McNamara has done well in these type of races for Willie Mullins and Tiger Tap Tap, who ran quite well in a couple of Leopardstown handicaps over the winter, could be a player. Ava Rose is an interesting one off a handy weight having shown up well in a strong mares' Listed race at Christmas time, while fellow handicap debutant Annexation is another to consider having run respectably in a Grade 1 novice when last seen in action over five months ago.

Pilbara missed an intended engagement at Tipperary on Thursday owing to the ground, and he's certainly a contender if showing up here. John Ryan has dual representation with Dedanann (out again quickly after a Ballinrobe third placing on Tuesday) and Fairyhill Run (debuts over fences). Gigginstown House Stud also have two in the mix, and as chase winners their CAVALRY MASTER and The Very Man must concede weight to the rest. The 128-rated Cavalry Master was very good at Kilbeggan last time, a track where he's now triumphed twice. Of course Killarney is the other way round and the selection has his first outing at the County Kerry venue in this. One could imagine the grey enjoying himself though, as he whizzes around the bends as the action heats up.

Two in here for Robcour and Henry de Bromhead, with Gin On Lime going under Rachael Blackmore and Robbie Power aboard the selection, TUNE THE CHELLO. The Ask mare won her maiden hurdle here last July, though she wasn't so good when never travelling and pulling up at the venue on her latest visit in October. Given a nice break after that, she returned with a promising second placing at Ballinrobe 23 days back. Maybe she'll jump fences better than she did hurdles, and she could be good at this game should that be the case. The fact that she has a point-to-point second placing under her belt is encouraging in that regard. Gin On Lime is dangerous, and there are a few others in here with place chances at least as well.

One would imagine that J P McManus could take away this prize given his hefty numerical challenge, with four runners and one of the reserves. Mark Walsh gets the nod aboard the Padraig Roche-trained MARSHALLED, as the Flemensfirth gelding arrives here in decent nick. A home-bred by McManus' wife Noreen, the selection has been a beaten favourite on his last three outings but he might turn bronze and a couple of silvers to gold with the help of cheekpieces.
