A faller at Warwick on his chase debut in October, Idalko Bihoue emphatically put the record straight with a seven-length romp over 2m4f at Cheltenham later that month and he is likely to have a lot more to give in this sphere, while Russian Ruler and Blow Your Wad also enter the equation as chasers on the upgrade. Top-weight GENERAL MEDRANO may have found one too good off a 1lb lower mark when bidding for a chase hat-trick over the extended 2m3f at Plumpton last month, but he remains on an upward curve and this extra furlong could unlock further improvement.

A Listed winner in France last month, IL EST FRANCAIS is 2-2 over fences and could be difficult to overhaul in his bid to complete the hat-trick. The gelding was notably a Grade 1 winner over hurdles at Auteuil last year and seems to have taken very well to larger obstacles. Hermes Allen comfortably landed a Grade 2 novices' chase at Newbury at the start of this month and has to be feared, while Giovinco has also shown stacks of promise and clearly rates as the the pick of the rest.
A cracking renewal. HERMES ALLEN ran to a really high level for a chase newcomer when taking a Newbury Grade 2 on his reappearance and will be a tough nut to crack if showing up in similar form. The way Giovinco travelled at Sandown last time suggests 3m around here could be ideal for him and he's second choice ahead of exciting French challenger Il Est Francais.

ALLAHO has won seven of his last eight and hasn't actually tasted defeat since April 2021, when outpaced by Chacun Pour Soi over 2m at Punchestown. The Real Whacker flopped in the Paddy Power Gold Cup, but this is more his cup of tea and he could prove a nuisance to the selection at the head of affairs.

Gentleman's Relish justified strong market support when landing a bumper at Newbury last month and Nicky Henderson's charge warrants respect on his hurdles debut. However, COURT IN THE ACT found only a subsequent winner too strong on his opening bid over timber at Hereford in November and the four-year-old shades the verdict with that experience under his belt. Onethreefivenotout ran with more encouragement when second at Wincanton recently and is unlikely to be far away either.
MOON CHIME was useful in bumpers and is taken to make a successful start to his hurdle career, most likely at the expense of Court In The Act. Nicky Henderson's Gentleman's Relish is another who has shown more than enough in bumpers to think he can make his presence felt in a race like this now hurdling.
