SPOT LITE was deemed good enough to run in a class 2 event at Bath 38 days ago and should appreciate these much calmer shores for Rod Millman. The four-year-old has performed creditably on synthetic surfaces in the past, and has an ideal draw in stall one for this assignment. Katherine Place scored over C&D three weeks ago and doesn't have many miles on the clock for her age, while Edged Out, a recent narrow Lingfield third, is also noted.

Watch out for: Katherine Place (1)

It's been a while since EDGED OUT last hit the target, but she went close on her belated all-weather debut at Lingfield earlier this month and a reproduction of that would probably suffice. Katherine Place has to be feared following her all-the-way C&D success, but this 6 lb higher mark demands another personal best and it may be that Arnoul of Metz will emerge as the main danger.

END OVER END was outpaced over shorter at Chelmsford earlier this month, but still performed creditably to finish fourth and should do better now trying further. Archie Watson has enjoyed an excellent season, especially on the all-weather, and this three-year-old can keep up his good record before switching to handicaps. Torbellino was an impressive 33-1 third at Windsor last month against the boys, while Capla Crusader hasn't been disgraced on Tapeta the last twice and is also taken seriously.

This will not take a great deal of winning and newcomer BRIGHTON PIER may be worth chancing. He's fairly appealing on paper and it will look significant if the market speaks in his favour. It wasn't much of a race in which Badessa finished fourth on debut at Wolverhampton, but it was an encouraging effort nonetheless and she is next best ahead of Torbellino and Capla Crusader.

Fair Sabra finished full of running here earlier this month and could improve now upped in trip and dropped in class, while Jems Bond was second at Newcastle 12 days ago and is another to note on just his second handicap start. Preference, though, is for LOCO DEMPSEY, who could have been let in lightly off a mark of 55 on her debut in this sphere. The Cityspace filly should find this easier than maiden company, and it is worth noting that her dam was an all-weather scorer as a two-year-old.

JEMS BOND did well to finish as close as he did when runner-up on his recent nursery debut at Newcastle, and Alan Brown's charge will take plenty of stopping if able to at least match that form on this surface. Lady Phyllis has shown ability in a trio of minor events and looks dangerous off a potentially handy opening mark, while Simply Susan and Santorini Sal are others to consider.

Faakhirah was beaten at odds-on when fancied at Newcastle last month and might not quite stay this far, while Evening Spirit, fifth in a hot maiden at Newmarket 25 days ago, is the first foal of a Listed winner over a mile and will be expected to do better given time. WREN couldn't quite get on terms with an impressive Lingfield scorer in August, but previously showed a nice turn of foot to strike here on debut and should enjoy this switch back to synthetics.

SORREL ran with a fair amount of promise to finish fourth on her racecourse bow over C&D in September and Sir Michael Stoute's filly is capable of getting off the mark as she is entitled to come on plenty for that experience. Narrate is from a good Juddmonte family and is a half-sister to Listed winner Stipulate, while others to note include Indie Angel, a 600,000gns purchase as a foal, and Little Becky, who is related to star performer Golden Horn.

Lord Neidin shaped with real promise when beaten less than a length into third here over a mile on debut and could be seen to much better effect down at 7f, while Marcus Tregoning's Raatea has caught the eye on both of his outings so far. Tom Collins steps up in trip having picked up a silver medal here over 6f last time, but this could head the way of one of the newcomers, with MAGICAL MORNING narrowly preferred to Godolphin's Creek Horizon. John Gosden's Muhaarah colt comes from a family stacked with top-level winners on the dam's side, with the dam herself an Oaks third and Group 3 winner.

CRYSTAL CASQUE made it back-to-back victories when scoring over a mile here last time and Rod Millman's in-form four-year-old shouldn't have any problems dropping back to 7f in search of a quick-fire hat-trick. Kwela, a winner here over 6f last month, now steps up in distance off a 3lb higher mark and is closely matched with the useful Visionara from when they met at Lingfield in August, while the consistent Chitra shouldn't be overlooked trying this distance for the first time this season.

The return to this trip is unlikely to inconvenience KWELA, who was strong at the finish when scoring over 6f here last month, and a 3 lb rise may not be enough to prevent her from striking again.
