Stablemates Triple Dream and Island Legend locked horns over C&D last Wednesday with the former, who now carries a penalty, coming out on top. The latter is an admirable sort that should ensure there is no hanging around and he may be capable of reversing the form off the revised weights, seemingly with less opposition for the lead declared on paper. Preferred above both, however, is CAPTAIN SCOOBY, who made plenty of late headway to take third behind the aforementioned pair last time and races off a 2lb lower mark here. Estonia is capable of going well at this level and is another to consider.
The trailblazing Island Legend could take some pegging back in an attempt to reverse last week's C&D form with Triple Dream, but preference is for Captain Scooby, who was closing the pair down quickly in the closing stages that day and can gain revenge on the revised terms.

JOHN LOUIS improved for the step up to this trip when scoring at Lingfield last time and is taken to get the better of Hurricane Hymnbook, a neck second that day, to land the spoils, despite meeting that rival on 1lb worse terms. The selection is open to more improvement around middle distances and arrives fresher than most, having enjoyed the benefit of a five-month break prior to his return in January. Menadati shaped with promise over C&D latest and also merits consideration along with Understory, a C&D winner beaten by less than a length off 1lb lower in November.
Hurricane Hymnbook conceded first run when second to John Louis at Lingfield, and is fancied to turn the tables now. A bigger threat may come from the quirky Menadati, who was a good third over C&D last time.

Best Trip is a capable polytrack sprinter on his day but has been struggling for form of late and needs to prove his effectiveness over this longer trip. Last Sovereign has sharpened up his fitness with a couple of recent spins on the all-weather and the booking of Jimmy Fortune for the Ollie Pears yard catches the eye. Nevertheless, MARAJAA remains the one to beat. The selection has been turned over in claimers the last twice but hasn't been beaten far on either occasion. Effective under these conditions, he will go close if running to his mark. Mambo Spirit won't be fazed by the return to 7f and makes most appeal of the remainder.
Marajaa is best in at the weights, and his recent third at Lingfield has been franked by wins for those who flanked him, making him hard to oppose. Last Sovereign shaped well over C&D last time, and can give the selection most to do.

Marco Botti's MUNIFICENCE shaped with promise on debut at Wolverhampton earlier in the month, staying on for third behind a winner who enjoyed the run of the race, and can put the experience gained that day to good use here. Mark Johnston has his string in good order at present so newcomer Red Orator is worth a market check to assess the confidence behind his chances. Oneiric is thoroughly exposed but looks to have the beating of Avon Supreme on official figures (rated 17lb superior).
With Munificence not sure to improve on a fair debut effort, this looks a good opportunity for newcomer Red Orator to boost his yard's impressive 2012 record. Oneiric is better than she showed last time, and is preferred for the forecast.

BY IMPLICATION took a forward step when blinkers were fitted over C&D latest and is taken to build upon that fourth-placed effort now eased 1lb in the weights. The main danger appears to be Rigid, who was a moderate fourth at Wolverhampton last month before a disappointing hurdles outing. My Sister and Very Well Red are capable of getting involved if putting their best foot forward but, on the whole, this is not a contest in which to get too heavily involved.
Rigid is a solid proposition at this level, for all he's a maiden on the Flat, and he makes most appeal in a tricky finale. By Implication will go well if the blinkers continue to have an effect, while My Sister is feasibly handicapped on her return to this sphere.
