Bint Alakaaber has failed to build on last year's promising debut over 6f in two starts this year and looks worth taking on again, possibly with SLEEP DANCE. The selection finished around three lengths ahead of the reopposing Miakora when a decent third on his debut over 6f at Bath earlier this month but found 7f on rain-softened ground too far at Folkestone last week. Back down in trip and tried on the quicker polytrack for the first time, Eve Johnson Houghton's filly looks worth another chance. Miakora is no forlorn hope, while Jeremy Gask's newcomer Dan Donnelly is worth a second look.
Market support for Dan Donnelly could prove significant, but as things stand Sleep Dance has to be the call. Glastonberry also has the potential to do a bit better after just a couple of starts.

An open maiden, in which Fantastic Smartie should be in the shake-up after two fair efforts to date, including when not beaten far into fourth on his all-weather debut at Wolverhampton last time. Lupo D'Oro arrives on the back of three placed efforts and, having gone well over C&D earlier in the summer, is another expected to be thereabouts when the medals are handed out, while 26,000-guinea newcomer Athenian warrants respect representing the in-form Sir Mark Prescott operation. The tentative vote, however, goes to PLANET I T, who filled the runner-up berth over 6f here earlier this month. There could be more to come after only two starts and the drop back in trip is expected to suit.
Meloneras has had plenty of chances, and looks to be playing for places again, but it would be folly to put Lupo d'Oro in the same bracket, and he should get off the mark at the seventh time of asking unless newcomer Athenian is well above average.

However, compensation awaits today off the same mark and with the drop in trip in his favour. If What And Maybe has been knocking on the door in similar events and can give the selection plenty to think about. 2lb lower than her handicap debut fifth over 1m on soft ground latest, Another Whisper should also be considered now back up in trip for her all-weather bow.
Pursuing is of interest now going handicapping but Harry Lime, If What And Maybe and Rowan Ridge all look solid in the context of this race. The vote goes to the last-named who has been knocking on the door of late.

Eagle Nebula has won three times over 1m4f in his last four starts but the defeat came over this trip, which tempers enthusiasm as he bids to defy a 5lb rise in the ratings tonight. SIT TIGHT, on the other hand, relished a return to 1m2f when opening his account in good style over C&D three weeks ago and, with further progress possible following that confidence booster and the runner-up scoring since, a 7lb hike may not be enough to prevent the double. Point Du Jour is interesting stepping back up in distance after three good efforts (one win) over 1m here last month.
The rest were well beaten off when Sit Tight outpointed a subsequent winner with a bit more in hand than the margin of victory suggests over C&D last month and, still unexposed, is taken to repeat the dose. Mauritino and Classically can fill the places.

TEGAN was denied a four-timer when last sighted at Brighton but the winner was allowed to dictate a moderate gallop and it might be worth chancing that Richard Hannon's charge can return to winning ways, even if 4lb higher off his revised rating, in a truly-run race. Waltzing Cat shaped as if this longer trip would suit when staying on into second over 1m3f here latest and looks the main danger off a 3lb higher mark. Top-weight Convention has been restrained in recent outings but has commandeered a good draw which Jamie Spencer may look to exploit if riding her with a bit more force than she's been used to.
Waltzing Cat looks on the verge of breaking her duck, possibly at the chief expense of Convention, though the well-bred Viva Diva also looks interesting now switching her attentions to handicaps.

Micky P failed to justify market support when backed into favouritism at Lingfield in July but is capable of impacting in this grade when putting his best foot forward. Nevertheless, there are safer alternatives elsewhere in the line-up and SCARBOROUGH LILY gets the vote. A very trappy sprint closes the card and nothing can be recommended with any confidence. Something has to win though and PATCH PATCH is nominated for the job on the basis that he is open to more improvement on his third start on polytrack and may improve now in the care of Derek Shaw, for whom he showed promise when fourth at Windsor last month. The Name Is Frank does most of his racing on turf nowadays but is too well treated on his return to the AW to ignore. Premier League is better on fibresand but still rates the main danger given the dearth of credible opposition. One Cool Chick could run into a place.
