The vote, however, goes to ELECTRIC QATAR. He represents a Tom Dascombe stable who have been amongst the winners of late and the form of his runner-up finish in this sphere at Wolverhampton last month looks solid enough with the third subsequently hitting the target.

Bazooka posted a respectable silver medal finish on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton (6f) two weeks ago and must enter calculations despite a subsequent 3lb rise, while Caesars Gift has been knocking on the door and is certainly no forlorn hope in the first-time visor.

Memphis Magic has filled the runner-up position on both starts thus far and should give another good account, but PRETTY BUBBLES shades the verdict. She backed up her neck defeat in a classified stakes event when a close-up fourth in handicap company latest (both at this track) and looks certain to play a leading role on her return to maiden company. Clear Loch struck the crossbar in a 7f maiden here last week and he cannot be ruled out either.

A chance is taken on NOBLE CITIZEN. He wasn't disgraced in a class 3 handicap at Lingfield latest despite only managing a seventh place finish and lost little in defeat when a neck second over 7f here the time before. The way he finished off that race suggests that this extra furlong will suit. Escape To Glory was much improved at Ayr the last day (third) and merits consideration, while Well Painted and Soaring Spirits are others to consider in a competitive heat.

Not the easiest of races to assess with the tentative vote going to Well Painted who gained a valuable confidence booster dropped to claiming company last time, and looks on a workable mark reverting back to handicap company. Naaz is better than his recent form figures suggest and is fancied to put up the most resistance, with Maverik another to consider down in grade.

Tasrih arrives here as an unexposed quantity and a mark of 79 looks far from insurmountable. The application of a hood on Legendary is somewhat disconcerting after the use of blinkers on his last run back in June, however INDIAN JACK has no such question marks to his name. Ed Walker's C&D winner shaped well over 7f at Lingfield the last day (third) and can get his head back in front returned to a mile this evening. Ree's Rascal deserves a mention at the top of the weights.

Following an impressive victory at Carlisle on his UK debut, Open Eagle gave it a good go from the front when third in the November Handicap and must be respected off the same mark. However, he is unproven on the all-weather, unlike CASTILO DEL DIABLO, whose second over this C&D when last seen in September has worked out very well and he still looks feasibly treated despite a 2lb rise. Layl scored off 6lb lower on his handicap bow over 1m4f at Wolverhampton and there could be plenty more to come from the lightly-raced three-year-old.

Watch out for: Open Eagle (1)

It's dangerous to take Layl's recent defeat of Tweed at face value, but that still represented improved form from Mark Johnston's 3-y-o, and he looks sure to progress further. Main dangers Castilo del Diablo and Nautilus both have outside draws to overcome, but shouldn't be taken lightly.

Having mixed in good company on turf in the summer, COMMON TOUCH made a winning all-weather debut over this C&D earlier in the month and there could be plenty more to come from him, especially representing a Willie Musson yard in fine form at present. He is taken to defy a 5lb rise at the main expense of Brownsea Brink, who has strong claims on his hat-trick of 1m victories on turf in the summer but he didn't look quite as effective over 7f last time out. There was little to separate Loyalty and Clockmaker when third and fourth respectively off the same marks at Lingfield on Saturday and they can make their presence felt again.
