Charlie Appleby representative TRUE COURSE produced her best effort yet when fourth over this trip on her handicap debut at Leicester and she's expected to go well, off 2lb lower, now debuting on Polytrack. The main danger may be Sparbrook, who battled on gamely to score by a head over 6f here last time but may have to be content with a supporting role over this shorter distance. The pick of the remainder may be recent Musselburgh runner-up Surrey Pink.

True Course, Sparbrook and Surrey Pink are all respected, but the trio have all shaped as though they would be more at home over further, so that may leave the door open for the trailblazing Air of York, who has eased further in the weights after failing to see things out over 6f at Chepstow last month.

Greek Islands went down by a short-head over this trip at Windsor when last sighted and should remain competitive off the same mark. However, on this faster surface, preference is for well-drawn C&D winner DANZOE, who is only 2lb above his Southwell win in August and served notice that his turn was approaching again when landing minor money off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Bubbly Bailey is sliding towards his previous winning mark and could also take a hand.

Watch out for: Greek Islands (5)

Lucky Royale shaped really well returning from a lengthy absence when on the heels of Lucky Surprise and Sylvan Spirit at Lingfield in September. She is likely to be a lot sharper now and is worth chancing to turn the tables with that pair and regain the winning thread. Danzoe and Greek Islands are others worth considering.

If she runs close to her official rating now reverting to sprinting, Richard Hannon's filly should take all of the beating. Slovak was beaten by under two lengths over 6f on debut at Wolverhampton and may improve for this stiffer test, while any market support for William Haggas' newcomer Noblest would also be notable.

Noblest looks the pick of a bunch of likely-looking newcomers and is respected if the subject of any significant support, but Raspberry Ripple is gradually learning her trade, taking another step forward when third at Salisbury in September, and may be able to put her experience to good use. Makramah was bought for 80,000 US dollars as a foal and warrants plenty of respect on her debut for powerful connections. JAZZI TOP edges the vote, however, after running to a fair level when third on debut at HQ, an effort on which she is entitled to build. Any market support for Godolphin's newcomer Wild Storm would be notable, while the well-bred Hana Lina likely has more to offer, having found the occasion a bit too much for her at Newmarket on her debut.

ROCK KRISTAL appears to be improving between runs and went down by just a neck over 1m here when last sighted. It is hoped that the fitting of a first-time hood can focus his energies and enable him to go one better this evening. Eastern Romance showed up well on debut at Newmarket, finishing fifth over 1m, and has place claims if that effort can be built upon, while any market support for Saeed bin Suroor's debutant Ershaadaat would also be noteworthy.

Rock Kristal was turned over at short odds here last time but it was still an encouraging effort and she's taken to make it third time lucky. Viceroyalty stayed on to finish a moderate second at Leicester last time and has enough ability to finish in the shake-up, though the main danger may be recent 1m2f Epsom second Ghany, who is tackling this longer trip for the first time.

Quite a competitive race of its type for the time of year. Rembrandt Van Rijn is more than capable of winning a race but his antics last time suggest there's a bit of temperament there too and it might be worth opposing him with Ghany, who was unlucky at Epsom and surely has more to come. EMIRATES JOY is one of the least exposed runners in the race and is expected to build on the promise she's shown on this surface in maiden company to strike off a mark of 77 on her handicap debut. Tawteen is similarly unexposed after making a winning debut on Tapeta earlier in the month and could go well if her wide draw can be overcome. Maria Bella and Perfect Persuasion are others weighted to go well but both are berthed wide so perhaps the consistent Khatiba could land the silver medal.

A competitive fillies' event. Perfect Persuasion didn't have things go her way at Sandown last time and is worth another chance to show she's still on good mark.
