FORTY CROWN stepped up on his hurdling debut effort to finish third at Wetherby last time and if he can build on that, he could take plenty of beating this afternoon. Milano Magic was far from disgraced on his chasing debut over 2m1f at Hexham last month and he is a likely player back over hurdles, and up in trip. Heron's Mill and Phoenix Returns are other possible contenders.

Watch out for: Heron's Mill (6)

Rifle Shot is worth a look now granted a test on his hurdles debut, while Forty Crown and Milano Magic are unlikely to be far away, but the vote goes to Heron's Mill up in trip after an eyecatching debut over hurdles at Newcastle.

Yurok showed a good attitude to score at Wetherby and he will not go down without a fight, but RED ROCCO edges the verdict. He meets Sue Smith's representative on 3lb worse terms than he would in a handicap but Henry Brooke's 3lb claim will help in that regard and the form of his two runs over fences this season is pretty solid. The Friary has a tough task on his chasing debut but he can't be ruled out with confidence.

Watch out for: Yurok (2)

Very little seperates Red Rocco and Yurok on what they've achieved over fences so far and it's only the red-hot form of the McCain stable that gives the former the nod.

He has failed to complete on his two runs over fences this season but he is rated 12lb lower over hurdles than over the larger obstacles and this trip, track and ground holds no fears for him. LITTLE GLENSHEE comes into this in good heart and she sets a clear standard on form. A reproduction of her Haydock second last week would be more than good enough to take first prize. Lady Of Verona has shown some promise in her two runs over hurdles and she could be the one to chase the selection home. Painted Tail may well fare best of the rest.

Or De Grugy is on a hat-trick following wins over this C&D and at Musselburgh, but he has gone up a total of 17lb and might find life tougher now. Ros Castle is in good heart at present and there should be more to come from him over fences but SACRE TOI is narrowly preferred. He was a beaten favourite at Catterick last time but still posted a decent effort and that form makes him a big player. Prince Tam is out of the handicap but should not be completely ignored. Snapping Turtle might also be worth a second glance.

Watch out for: Ros Castle (1)

Sacre Toi landed a gamble on debut for this yard in October and came from a poor position when finishing strongly at Catterick last time. Now in refitted cheekpieces he looks set to resume winning ways at the main expense of Ros Castle, who scored over C&D in October and narrowly failed to follow up at Newcastle.
